Spanish Military Flies Flags at Half-Mast for Good Friday

Madrid (kath.net) In Spain, the flags are set to half-mast on a
Good Friday in all military institutions. The occasion is Good Friday and the memory of the death of Christ. A statement announces that this measure will be implemented by 12.01 until Easter Sunday. The Spanish military will also be involved in more than 150 Easter parades and celebrations in over 80 cities at Easter. It is emphasized that the freedom of religion is respected and no military member is forced to attend.

1st time ever one Spanish Mayor put forth an ordinance that shut all Pubs, Liquor stores and selling of booze on Good Friday. As CNN celebrated that Ireland was allowed to sell booze on Good Friday since 1920s Spain is taking small steps.
