Evil Francis Predator Ex-Prelate Speaks Out From Monastic Enclosure

Edit: now, like other predators, he’s speaking out on his own behalf with an air of angelic innocence. He says Grein’s story that he abused him in Confession never happened, and we’re inclined to agree.

We've always questioned Grein’s story. We weren’t the only ones, either. Grein came out later to insist that Bernadin had abused him too. It was all getting a little much. The first thought which came to mind was that Grein wanted his story to throw doubt on those told by other victims, and that at least, is what McCarrick, is trying to do.

Edit: why couldn’t they have shot a picture of him outside of cardinal’s robes. He’s not a Cardinal any more.

Former Nuncio Talks About “Rumours” Surrounding McCarrick in 1990s

Cardinal Cacciavillan, Nuncio to the US in the 1990s, reports rumors of McCarrick's sexual misconduct in 1994.

(Washington) Another former Nuncio in the United States announced that in 1994 he heard rumors of sexual misconduct by Theodore McCarrick. However, that was still very vague then.

Cardinal Agostino Cacciavillan is now 93 years old. In 1990, the former Vatican diplomat began his service as a Pro Nuncio in the United States, where he would remain until 1998. Yesterday, he told the Catholic News Service, the press agency of the American Bishops' Conference, that in 1994 they had received a phone call from a woman. That was several months before Pope John Paul II’s visit to the United States in 1995.

"I remember receiving a phone call in 1994 while preparing for the Pope's visit to New York, Newark and Baltimore," said the cardinal. He was then in the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington.

The woman said there would be a "media scandal" when "the pope comes to Newark." In Newark at that time McCarrick was archbishop. The reason given by the woman was "rumors about McCarrick's behavior with the seminarians."

This was "no formal complaint", but "expression of a concern," according to the then nuncio. Nevertheless, the diplomat contacted the Archbishop of New York at the time, Cardinal John O'Connor: "Nobody knew better what happened in US diocese than the Archbishop of New York."

Cardinal O'Connor promised an "investigation.” As a result, the nuncio was told that there were "no obstacles to the Pope's visit to Newark."

Cardinal O'Connor, who passed away in 2000, is described by the Nuncio as "very competent", which is why he saw no reason to doubt the information provided by the investigation.

But he never talked about these rumors with McCarrick, whom he met several times during his eight years in Washington. He also did not inform the Vatican after the feedback from Cardinal O'Connor.

It was not until the beginning of October that he first spoke to a Vatican official about the matter, after Cardinal Marc Ouellet responded in an open letter to Nuncio Carlo Maria Viganò. Cardinal Cacciavillan denies having asked McCarrick to sell a house in Sea Girt, New Jersey, where he is said to have invited groups of seminarians to celebrate homosexual orgies. In any case, McCarrick sold the house in 1997, when Cacciavillan was still Nuncio to Washington.

Cacciavillan is not mentioned by Archbishop Viganò in his dossier published on 26th August. In the dossier, he raises heavy charges against McCarrick, against Pope Francis and against a gay lobby in the Church. Since then, 65 days have passed, but Pope Francis has refused any response to the allegations and the associated request to resign.

Msgr. Viganò, however, listed the steps of his immediate predecessors, the Nuncios Montalvo and Zambi, in McCarrick's case, as they had found expression in the nunciature records. The case was in late 2000 / early 2001 with the appointment of McCarrick as Archbishop of Washington and his move to the capital had led to him becoming really virulent, said Cardinal Cacciavillan.

The question is what kind of "investigation" Cardinal O'Connor initiated in 1994, which produced no results. O'Connor was with McCarrick a few years earlier among the founders of the Papal Foundation  Their cash flows to Rome could have played a not inconsiderable role in being "benevolent" both in the US and in Rome.

Bishop McCormack's Politicizing in New Hampshire for the Democrats

Of course, the Senator from New Hampshire is blinded by his indignation and frustration at dealing with a man who doesn't care much for rational things, economics or even the religion he's supposed to represent. The Senator has had to apologize. No one's talking about the Bishop's poor record in dealing with the homosexuals under his care who prey on adolescents.  You'd think his moral authority would be pretty much non-existent, but perhaps his collaboration with the abuse-hoax has given him a kind of half-life whereby he holds his office and continues to act as a Democratic Party lapdog. Still, at any rate, it's perhaps salubrious as well as instructive that there are people are threatening to take away the Church's tax-exempt status because Catholic Bishops don't seem to understand or appreciate that the Establishment Clause is a two-way street.

The Catholic Church is responsible to follow certain rules in the United States with respect to its non-exempt status. It can't campaign for various candidates as this is considered a violation with respect to the Establishment Clause which is part of the First Amendment.

Arch. Rembert Weakland

The CDL is in this case glossing over the Senator's insult, which he has apologized for, and neglecting to mention that if the Church shouldn't be campaigning for Republicans, it shouldn't be campaigning against them either.

There have been many occasions, including the Health Care Bill, where AmChurch, particularly the USCCB and leftist Bishops have weighed in favor of various socialist agendas. Remember Cardinal Bernadin's Seamless Garment that gave a blessing to allow allegedly Catholic politicos to vote against the doctrine and interests of the Catholic Church. It was true in the eighties when they were supporting nuclear disarmament and it's true today., and you just know this Bishop is for Obamacare.

Unfortunately, more emphasis will be put on political correctness and no emphasis will be put on the fact that in this case, Bishop McCormack, shouldn't be promoting socialist agendas and wealth confiscation themes. Of course, no one's asking that question.

[From CDL Newsletter]This has been a busy week in the world Catholic bashing.

New Hampshire House Majority Leader David J. Bettencourt called Manchester Bishop John B. McCormack a "pedophile pimp who should have been led away from the State House in handcuffs with a raincoat over his head."

The Catholic League is going after Bettencourt's actions very determinedly. Later news indicates that Bettencourt plans to apologize. Then the Catholic League reports Rep. Andrew Manuse wrote this missive: "I am now considering a bill to remove the Church's tax exempt status in New Hampshire, for you have clearly shown that you no longer want it."

CCHD Provides an Opportunity for Liberal Socialists to Undercut and Distract during the Healthcare Debate

Words on the relative success or failure of CCHD will be interesting to read, possibly on Monday, but is seems safe to say that given the pre-emptive attempt to head off the criticism and disatisfaction they knew was brewing as a result of their tacit approval for the various anti-Catholic organizations they've been supporting with the Catholic Church's popular clout, for years.

We've known about this for years and years, and we're surprised that an issue is being made about it now, but we're not surprised that some Bishops are denying the fact they knew about it at all, or just as bad, that we should believe them that something effective will be done in the future.

Court Jester is looking for news on Dicoese that don't collect here...

More on Bishop Roger's equivocations here...

Raymond Arroy's credibillity has even been called into question by Bishop Morin. He's a bit like one of those villains in a melodrama, and it's as if this is the first time in throughout the years that we've known about this. In previous years not more than a few occasional boos emanated from various places against these villains. People almost seemed to take it for granted that Bishops didn't take their religion seriously. Why should they, no one else does. Just a few crazy "Lefebvrists" and " Catholics United for the Faith" type people.

Perhaps there is truth to the suspicion that the politicos are taking shots at the USCCB for their support of the Stupak Amendment. If that's the case, the Bishops have only themselves to blame for being as cynical as the Democrats who must surely be engineering this campaign against them, or perhaps, finally, Catholics are truly coming to their senses and might at any moment show up outside episcopal bungalos with pitchforks and burning torches.

Politicizing Prelates and New York

The last few days have gotten us to thinking about politicising prelates and here we have a case of one who uses his mitre and authority to prop up his leftist political causes. Generally abortion isn't negotiable, most of the time, but sometimes (most of the time) you support the DNC talking points and candidates when your Diocese's schools, hospitals or "charitable" organizations or the semnary where conservative candidates get weeded out, need support.

A bishop’s flexibility

As chairman of the bishops’ committee that drafted the statement “Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship,” Brooklyn’s Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio has had an important role in interpreting what it actually means. In the heat of the 2008 presidential campaign, he wrote in a letter to The New York Times that the newspaper had erred in a story on Joseph Biden and the Catholic vote in reporting the statement would “explicitly allow Catholics to vote for a candidate who supports abortion rights if they do so for other reasons.”
