Knights of Malta Sponsor Degenerate Event with Drag Queen

VIENNA, Austria, December 3, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) ― More than 120 people answered a young Catholic hero’s summons to pray outside his nation’s most important cathedral while a sacrilegious pro-LGBT event happened inside.

Alexander Tschugguel, 26, has released a video in which he described the rosary held outside Vienna’s St. Stephen’s Cathedral on the night of Saturday, November 30. “It was a wonderful evening,” he said. “So many fantastic people were here.”

Tschugguel said that more than 120 people assembled and prayed three or more rosaries. They also sang Advent hymns. The Catholic activist, who became famous in October after removing pagan idols from a Catholic church in Rome and throwing them in the Tiber, was filmed by Gloria TV addressing the crowd in German.

The group prayed for those who were attending the pro-LGBT “Believe Together” concert organized in St. Stephen’s Cathedral by the Austrian Knights of Malta and gay rights activist Gery Keszler. Ostensibly to raise funds for HIV/AIDS relief, the event featured Austria’s most famous drag queen Thomas Neuwirth.

UPDATE: Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto Elected as New Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Knights of Malta

(Rome) The 56 electors of the Grand Council of State have elected the new Grand Duke of Rome, Fra Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, as the new prince and grand master of the Sovereign Order of Malta. The election took place in the Villa Magistrale in Rome, an extraterritorial area under the Sovereignty of the Order.

The 80th Grand Master in the almost thousand-year-old history of the Order will be sworn in on the Aventine on Sunday. This will not take place before the Cardinal Patron of the Order, Cardinal Raymond Burke, but the Apostolic Special Envoy, the Apostolic Special Envoy, the Archbishop of Cordoba, Angelo Becciu, appointed by Pope Francis on February 4, Substitute of the Vatican Secretariat of State.

The new statthalter of the mayor

The new Order Head of the Order until the election of the 80th Grand Master
Giacomo Count Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto was born in 1944 in Rome. He comes from the ancient Catholic nobility from the area of Treviso. He studied at the University of La Sapienza in Rome, specializing in the field of Christian Archeology. At the Pontifical University of Urbaniana , he was a professor for ancient Greek and chief librarians and archives of important collections of the university. In his writings, he appeared mainly with essays on the art history of the Middle Ages.
In 1985, he became a member of the Maltese Vicar, and in 1993 he took the solemn vows. He became a member of the First Order of the Order, for which he has since exercised numerous leading functions. From 1994-1999 he was Grand Priest of Lombardy and Venice, from 1999-2004 member of the Sovereign Council, from 2004-2008 Grand Commander of the Order. As such he directed the order after the death of the 78th Grand Master, Fra Andrew Bertie, already as a statthalter until the election of the 79th Grand Master. Since then he has been the Grand Prince of Rome.

The Dalla Torre del Tempio, Count of Sanguinetto

The Counts di Sanguinetto are closely connected with the papal court. The grandfather of the present head, Giuseppe Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto (1885-1967), was the City Councilor of Padua for the Catholic Union and in 1915 he became president of the Catholic Action of Italy. As such he supported the peace course of Pope Benedict XV. against Italian participation in the First World War. In 1918, the Pope appointed him President of the board of the Osservatore Romano, and in 1920 he became chief editor. It's an office he held until 1960. Before and during the Second World War, he turned against the neo-Nazi (ideals) and atheist (Communism) ideologies and their despotic racial and class antagonisms. In constant friction with the fascist regime, he and his family lived in the Vatican for security reasons. The election of John XXIII. and the appointment of Cardinal Secretary Domenico Tardini led to his resignation.
The father, Paolo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto (1910-1993), was a renowned art historian who also dealt with the Church history of the modern age. Since 1938 he worked for museums of the Vatican. From 1961-1975 he was Director-General of the Vatican Museums . As City Councilor of Rome for the Democrazia Cristiana (DC), he also held political positions after the Second World War.
Giuseppe Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto, the President of the Vatican, and the General Council of the Knights of the Tomb (Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem). After teaching at various universities, he was a rector of the Catholic, Roman private university LUMSA, President of the Association of Italian Catholic Lawyers, adviser to Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti (2011-2013) and member of the National Bioethics Council of Italy.

Priority constitutional reform

In a declaration by the Maltese Order about the Lieutenant of the Grand Master,
"One of the most important tasks" of Fra Dalla Torre as a Lieutenant of the Grand Master "will be to work on the reform of the Constitution and the Codex of the Order."
The current Constitution entered into force in 1961 and was last reformed in 1997.
"The proposed constitutional reform aims to remedy potential institutional weaknesses. The recent crisis has revealed some weaknesses in the control mechanisms of leadership. These will be taken into account in the reform. In the foreground, the reform will need to strengthen the spiritual life of the Order and gain more professed members. In addition, more appointments are to be admitted to the first class. The talks have already been started, and all members of the Order are invited to make proposals."
On the powers of the Lieutenant of the Grand Master, the press release states:
"According to the constitution of the Order, the Lieutenant of the Grand Master remains in office for one year, and during this time he is endowed with the same authority as a Grand Master. Before the end of his mandate, the Lieutenant of the Grand Master must convoke the Grand Council of State.

The Lieutenant of the Grand Master who is sovereign and religious head of the Order, has to devote himself entirely to the prosperity of the Order and must be a model for all members with a life according to Christian values. He exerts the highest authority. Together with the Sovereign Council, he enacts statutory provisions that are not contained in the Constitution, announces government acts and ratifies international agreements. The magisterium of the Grand Master resides at the Magistrate's palace in Rome. "
[Update] A short version, which was first published in error, is to be regarded as irrelevant.

The Pope Stacks the Deck for the New Election of the Grand Master of the Maltese Order

 Villa Malta on the Aventine
(Rome) On the following Saturday, 29 April, the Grand Council of Sovereigns of the Sovereign Order of Malta will gather in Rome to form the "conclave", to elect a new Grand Master and Prince of the  Order -- the 80th. The election becomes necessary because Pope Francis, with a blatant act, forced the resignation of the reigning Grand Master without naming reasons and now intervenes massively in the election of the successor.

Pope has dismissed the Grand Master and now wishes a successor of his choosing

Maltese Order Distributing Birth Control in the Congo

Background to internal Maltese decisions, condom distribution, the "pills after" with nidation-inhibiting effect

Rome (kath.net/rn)  The Maltese and condom distribution. This story has caused the last few months of media attention and led to violent discussions within the Maltese Order. While various Maltese want to give the impression in the media that these stories were a few regrettable individual cases in the distant past that were immediately corrected, internal Maltese documents reveal that the story can still be assessed critically.

For example, on 12 December 2013 a board meeting was held by Maltese-International (MI). The kath.net audit shows Albrecht v. Boeselager and Ingo Radtke, the Secretary General of MI as participants. One of the agenda items was "reproductive health" and the distribution of condoms in Myanmar and southern Sudan. The board meeting clearly stated that a "red line" had been crossed here in connection with the teaching of the Church. It was decided that the whole thing should be further discussed in a working group with Bishop Stenger, the spiritual advisor of MI. The aim of the working group was to have clear guidelines on the subject (the editor's observation, which, however, has already been explained through the teaching of the Church).

Anyone who had thought that the meeting would in principle have clarified the issue among the Maltese would learn a few days later that not even the participants in the meeting had obviously taken this agenda item particularly seriously. Already a few days later, as in the Maltese Report "Commission of Inquiry", on 19 December 2013 an MI project, which included the distribution of condoms, was reintroduced and blessed by persons who had previously been present at the above meeting. The next project followed almost ten months later. Again, Myanmar has been conspicuous with condom distribution as explicitly outlined in the project description. The project was approved by the end of October 2014 for the project period January 2015 until the end of December 2016 (!).

The Maltese Order doesn't just only have a "condom problem" but also problems with the distribution of pills with "nidation-inhibiting effect". This is the result of an affidavit by Albrecht von Boeselager, which is available at kath.net. In the context of the problem of the distribution of the anti-baby pill in the Congo by Maltese International, Boeselager says: "In part, these women received a drug which, according to the general medical knowledge at the time, helped to rule out a conception and thus an unwanted pregnancy after rape (Levonogestrel) according to the latest findings ... The fact that this drug was used in East Congo was not known to me and was not caused by me."

Pills with a nidation-inhibiting effect do not actually prevent the conception, but the implantation of already begotten, human life into the uterus. This effect is therefore equivalent to an early abortion. This is confirmed, for example, by the Imabe-Institute of the Austrian Bishops' Conference on its homepage.

Interesting in this respect is a prominent Maltese from Belgium, who is at the same time a high-ranking employee of a pharmaceutical company that produces pills with the aforementioned active ingredient Levonorgestrel and other contraceptives.

Editor's note: It is undisputed that the Maltese International is doing incredibly valuable work for the poorest of the poor. [So are the Masons] At the very least, it is important for a Catholic organization to witness the faith and to adhere to the teachings of the Church. In the areas mentioned, this "red line" was clearly exceeded several times and the necessary responsibility for this has not been accepted.

"Happy Easter" -- An Unusual Telephone Call Between Pope Francis and the Maltese Order

Pilgrimage Site of the Madonna delle Grazie in Alife (Campania)
A phone call from the pope reached Msgr. Sapienza there.
(Rome) Some telephone calla from Pope Francis are puzzling. Telephone contact recordings are certainly a hallmark of this pontificate which date back to the evening of March 13, 2013, when Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected Pope in the Sistine Chapel. On the same evening, the new Catholic Church's chief spoke to various persons who were close to him. A sensation for a pope.
In the past four years, the faithful and the media have become accustomed to the fact that the Pope is always on the phone or mobile phone. This was also the case on Easter Monday. The addressee of the call was unusual, it was Monsignor Leonardo Sapienza, the head of the Papal House. The mission of Monsignor Sapienza corresponds to that of a secretary of the Roman dicasteries. He is the number two in the Pontifical Household, after his Prefect, Archbishop Georg Gänswein.

Msgr. Sapienza

Pope Benedict XVI Had appointed Sapienza to the Apostolic Protonotary two days before his unexpected resignation was announced. The award of this pontifical title was suspended by his successor, Pope Francis, shortly afterwards indefinitely. In any case, the reigning pope has a special appreciation for the head of the papal household, as yesterday's telephone call shows.
The telephone call was made by the local bishop of Alife-Caiazzo, Monsignor Valentino Di Cerbo. On Easter Monday, Sapienza, together with a group of Maltese Knights, had taken a trip to Campania. Mariano-Hugo Prince of Windisch-Graetz, Head of the Younger Line of the Austrian Princes, who had possessions in the area, had given the invitation to this effect. Prince Windisch-Graetz is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Slovakia and Slovenia as well as Knights of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
When the knights visited the diocesan prayer site of the Madonna delle Grazie in Alife, Monsignor Sapienza received the telephone call from Pope Francis. That was a few minutes before he turned to the Regina Coelito the faithful on St. Peter's Square. Monsignor Sapienza told the Pope where he was, describing the chapel and landscape in the hinterland of Caserta. Monsignor Sapienza passed the mobile phone to the local bishop, whom the Pope also briefly greeted. The Pope wished Monsignor Sapienza to have a happy Easter, and he extended the same wishes to all the knights, the knights and the church rector. A sympathetic gesture, which was also recorded and published accordingly.
He was astonished that the Pope was calling a staff member on Easter Monday, who had just left the Vatican for a one-day trip, and whom he just had in his vicinity -- just to describe the landscape. In Rome it is speculated that the call would have had more to do with the Maltese knights who accompanied Monsignor Sapienza, and to whom papal closeness was to be demonstrated.
In the Sovereign of Malta, there was a violent dispute at the beginning of December 2016, which led to the resignation of the Grandmaster Fra Matthew Festing at the end of January by a direct papal command . Festing is also a Knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The Order has been under the supervision of a papal commissioner. A new Grand Master will be elected at the end of April. In the context of the conflict, the choice of a directional decision is the same. The Italian knights have a not insignificant role. Behind the scenes, it's about candidates and voices.

Knights of Malta -- The Double Truth About that 30 Million

[Magister] The reply of Eugenio Ajroldi di Robbiate, director of the communications office of the Order of Malta, to what was published on March 23 by Settimo Cielo on “the mystery of those 30 million Swiss francs,” has not been passed over in silence by other knights of the Order, closer to the mental workings of former Grand Master Fra' Matthew Festing, forced to hand in his resignation last January 24 to Pope Francis in person.
This is what is attested to in the following letter, from a person very well-informed on the affairs of the Order, rich in information that in its turn contradicts, corrects, or completes what has been stated by the official spokesman.
*
Dear Magister,
Sometimes even those responsible for the external communications of big organizations make mistaken or imprecise statements. There is no exemption to this rule for the Order of Malta, which recently has generated great confusion, especially on the New Zealand CPVG trust with its Swiss fiduciary, at first denying its existence and then creating a great deal of confusion on the legal circumstances that have led to opposition between the Order and the trust.
A few clarifications need to be made on the latest position statement of the Order, to correct or contradict its contents.
Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager was not removed as an elected member of the Sovereign Council, but because a disciplinary procedure had been initiated against him. The circumstance had determined his suspension as a member of the Order, and therefore his automatic disqualification from the position of Grand Chancellor. The whole procedure had been examined by the Office of the Advocate General, which had confirmed its validity. All the circumstances were reported in a statement on the website of the Order, which was later removed. The Grand Master had attached a copy to a letter sent to numerous personalties connected to the Order on January 14, 2017. Over the last 15 years, two members of the Sovereign Council, both Italian, have resigned from their positions at the request of the Grand Master.

Cardinal Burke Defends Himself Against "Slander" -- Whoever Wants to Understand What Happens in the Vatican Must Read Between the Lines, Must Look Behind the Curtains

Cardinal Burke with the Knights Malta

(Rome) Cardinal Raymond Burke, a brilliant jurist and the highest judge of the Holy See until the end of 2014, is a patient man with a great deal of suffering. But he can not just stand by for everything. Anyone who currently wants to understand what is happening in the Vatican and in the Church must listen carefully, look behind the scenes, read between the lines and, above all, question what the "information disinformation channels" are rumoring in the Vatican,  says Marco Tosatti. In other words, anyone who wants to see through this, is called to be an observer. This is exhausting but necessary in the service of the Church.
In November 2014 Pope Francis dismissed him, away from the Vatican, to become Cardinal Patronus of the Order of Malta, to which he only said of this humiliation, where the Pope says to go, I go. When Pope Francis sent him to Guam, he said he did not see it as exile.

Cardinal Burke does not want to be the scapegoat

However, he does not want to be a scapegoat for the dirty laundry of others in the Order of Malta. In the Order, which is at the same time a sovereign state in international law, a severe power struggle had spread in December / January. With Vatican support, the first rank of the professed knights was in fact deprived of power by some members of the second class. Burke, the jurist, had to stand idly by to the legally unclean activity. The best laws are only as much in effect  as people are found to ensure their compliance. In the Vatican, the Constitution was overthrown. Interpretation?
Journalists approaching the "magical circle" around Pope Francis, as Tosatti commented, gave the astonished public a certain reading of the events in the Order that had little to do with reality. Cardinal Burke did not speak, did not correct this. He was the Pope's ambassador to the Order. Ambassadors do not have to express their opinion, but to speak publicly only in the interest of their client.

The power struggle in the Order of Malta

Finally the letter became known to Burke on 1 December 2016 by Pope Francis. A letter containing clear instructions for action against certain power centers in the Order. As the Ambassador of the Pope, Burke also held on to the wasps' nest. He could not know this. The Cardinal Secretary suddenly interfered, stood up against him, and declared that with the Pope's letter everything had been quite different and misunderstood.
The Knight of the Second Estate, Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, as Major Chancellor in the Order, had been deposed by the Grand Master of the Order and reinstated by the Vatican, with Papal authority. The centuries-old hierarchical structures in the Order had been overridden by a papal fiat. Scarcely again in office, and now as the real ruler in the Order, Boeselager entered the press at the beginning of February, declaring that he no longer had any use for Cardinal Burke in the Order. A few days later, the Vatican sent the Cardinal to the South Seas, far from Rome.

"I regard this as libel"

Boeselager's attack was too brazen for the Cardinal. He came to the public to clarify that he had never called for the resignation of Boeselager. The accusation was piquantly repeated by Ludwig Hoffmann of Rumerstein, an Austrian knight, ie, a member of the old guard. Hoffmann von Rumerstein, according to the Order's Constitution, heads the Order until the election of a new Grand Master, but he has only to say as much about Vatican interference as the Vatican will allow. The unilateral representation of a certain Fronde has found numerous adepts, followers, and naive followers.
After Cardinal Burke's speech, Cardinal Burke then became clear: the assertion that he and not Grand Master Fra Matthew Festing had demanded Boeselager's head, "I regard as defamation." Grandmaster Festing, the subordinate in the internal power struggle, returned on January 24 after a conversation with Pope Francis, disappointed and unnerved. Hoffmann von Rumerstein may have thought of using the viewpoint of the Order's new representation in this critical situation. After all, the professed knights, like him, have to reckon with the fact that Pope Francis completely deprives them of power. The papal announcements to "reform" the Order were felt as a threat by parts of the Order.

"Anyone who allows distribution of contraception should also take responsibility for it"

After a reconstruction of the facts, the resignation request to Boeselager was not planned at all. Grandmaster Festing, with the written request of the Pope of December 1, wanted to create clarity. To this end, he invited Boeselager on 6 December and confronted him with allegations which had come to light independently by means of two investigation reports. It was only when the Grand Chancellor showed himself inscrutable that the confrontation escalated. The Grand Master demanded Boeselager's resignation. When this refused, Festing dismissed him. The rest is known .
Cardinal Burke on the clash of 6 December:
"I had no authority to demand the resignation of the Grand Chancellor. I have merely pointed out that a person consciously admitting the distribution of contraception in the works of the Order should also assume responsibility for it. The Grand Master then asked the Grand Chancellor to resign, which he refused. Then the Grand Master proceeded to his dismissal without me being involved in any way. "
Now the Pope had sent him to Guam to conduct proceedings against an emeritus archbishop. He sees this as a task, not as an exile from Rome.
"The Pope has never personally spoken to me about this mission."

Two operations and the proven information disinformation channels

The actual nomination was made by the Congregation for the Congo. Marco Tosatti wrote:
"In fact, in this rather mournful story two different, interrelated operations can be distinguished. The first operation concerns internal power struggles in the Maltese Order, which are probably also about money. It is unfortunate that the figure of the Pope was so obviously involved in this operation: he was the one who forced the Grand Master to retreat. We do not know what means he used to do."
Another aspect, according to Tosatti,
"...is the intervention of the Vatican Secretariat of State: It is known that the family of the Grand Chancellor who has been deposed and been rejoined after the Anschluss of the Order, by the Vatican has excellent relations with the Terza Loggia [Third floor, Secretary of State]; But they have substituted him for the task of spiritual renewal of the order ... "
The Swiss journalist Giuseppe Rusconi spoke of the Anschluss, referring to the "Anschluss" of Austria to the German Reich in 1938, in order to say that at the end of January, the Vatican was doing the same with the Maltese Order. The "Terza Loggia" means the third floor in the Apostolic Palace and is synonymous to say that the Boeselager family has "excellent relations" with the Pope.
Tosatti continues:
"The second operation, on the other hand, appears to be an opportunistic action. There is an opportunity to attack, discredit Burke, who is a nuisance in other areas, and, at the same time, to confuse the real maneuvers by smoke candles. It is enough to make the rumors that  [Burke] is guilty of all the guilt, friendships, informational channels ... Always this Burke! How much patience can the Pope muster with him! ... "
If you want to understand what is happening in the Vatican and in the Church, you must take the trouble to read between the lines, to look behind the scenes, and to look closely at who says what and what he says, especially when it is supposedly neutral, "in the newspaper stands".

The Next Attack Against Cardinal Burke -- "The Pope will not let himself be stopped by populists, but will go full speed ahead."

(Lisbon) A concerted action seems to be taking place against Cardinal Raymond Burke. After the attacks of New York Times, Washington Post and La Nacion, yesterday followed the attack of the Portuguese daily, Publico.

There is hardly any chance of coincidence, especially since the tone and direction of leading media are the same in different countries.

"Burke. Orosto dos conservadores na luta contra o papa. "

"Burke, the Conservative's face in the struggle against the Pope," is the title of a detailed article which Cardinal Burke is not portrayed as a legitimate opponent in important questions concerning the office of the incumbent Pope, but as a dangerous enemy of Francis, whose attempts to "modernize" has been hindered by "conservatives."

Jason Horowitz threw the stone into the water in the New York Times when he created a connection between Cardinal Burke and the new US President Donald Trump. The connection exists only indirectly via Trump's chief strategist Steve Bannon, nevertheless the intention of the NYTimes article seems to be, namely, to form fronts.

Donald Trump is so hateful in left circles that anyone who has to address Trump is motivated by the same hatred. According to this logic, Pope Francis is on the side of the "good". The Wallstreet Journal of 24 December saw him as the new leader of the global left after the leftist electoral defeat in the USA. Cardinal Burke, for whom Trump's current chief strategist Bannon, as head of Breitbart News found a word of praise for him in 2014, must accordingly belong to the "axis of evil" with Trump. In this way, Horowitz has extended the anti-Trump struggle to the Catholic Church. An interest in this may be the United States, where Catholics are by far the largest religious community. Since the US is a world power and the Catholic Church is a world Church, Horowitz's interference in internal church affairs leads to worldwide shocks.

Publico quoted the US-American Vaticanist John Thavis as saying:

"The Vatican is based on tradition, and when the different parts of this tradition begin to conflict, it is a dangerous sign."

The article is very Francis-friendly, whether it is Amoris laetitia or the Order of Malta, the blame is always pushed onto Cardinal Burke. The fact that Maltese internationally distributed contraception in emergency areas, including the abortion pill, is only known to the Portuguese daily, that a Vatican's examination commission had declared that there was nothing to it. That the attacks against Cardinal Burke are not a coincidence due to a connection with US President Trump, was apparent in the first press conference of Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, reappointed by Pope Francis as Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta (see Boeselager Press Conference or How I educate the international press I attack Trump).

The concluding speech was given by Father Antonio Spadaro (2 + 2 = 5), Pope's confidant, and the head of the Jesuit journal Civiltà Cattolica, who saw Pope Francis as a guard against populism, whose chief exponent was Donald Trump. Pope Francis will not be stopped by the populists (whether Trump or Burke, is the context) in his reforms: "He goes forward, and fast forward," says Spadaro.

In the context of the Pope, some consultants seem to have taken an opportunity to see new alliances between the "Argentine" Church leadership and the mainstream of the Left.

Condom Knight Boeselager Triumphs Over Good With Pope's Help

Edit: the Order of Malta's condom distributing Grand Chancellor, Albrecht Boeselager, has given a public address wherein he avoids any explanations of the totals capitulation of the Order's sovereignty and praises Pope Bergoglio's autocratic takeover. If you listen to this public sinner's address, he offers no contrition for distributing condoms, and even expresses his own disapproval of the increasing border security in the face of Islamic invasion. Unlike his predecessors, he is surely a friend of Islam, and an enemy of Christ.

He virtue signals thusly:

We are alarmed and concerned by the proliferation of discriminatory positions towards immigrants, not least, based on their national origin. History has already provided us with plenty of examples showing the dramatic and monstrous consequences of policies based on origin and race. Likewise, the Government takes a strong stance against the increasing disregard for the humanitarian laws encoded in the Geneva Conventions ratified by the family of nations.

The Pope and the Order of Malta: a Pyrrhic Victory?

Lepanto 1571
[Translation by Rorate] The resignation of Fra Matthew Festing, Grand Master of the Order of Malta, imposed on him by Francis on January 23rd, risks being a Pyrrhic victory for the Pope.

Pope Bergoglio has in fact obtained what he wanted, but had to use force, violating both law and common sense. And this is destined to have serious consequences not only inside the Order of Malta, but among Catholics from all over the world, increasingly perplexed and bewildered about the way Francis is governing the Church.

The Pope knew he hadn’t any legal title to intervene in the internal affairs of a sovereign Order and even less so to demand the resignation of its Grand Master. He knew also the Grand Master himself would not have been able to resist the moral pressure of a request for his resignation, even if illegitimate.

Maltese Order Accuses Commission of Prejudice -- Banana Papacy

(Rome) The Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta , Fra 'Matthew Festing, repeated his accusation against the fact finding mission set up by Pope Francis on the Boeselager case. This commission is not legally competent because the Maltese government is a sovereign entity of international law and the deposed Grand Chancellor Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, as a member of the Second Order of the Order, is not subject to the Vatican in his tasks and functions concerning the Order. Moreover, some of the five commissioners have personal and financial ties and would therefore not guarantee objectivity.
Grandmaster Festing expressed serious doubts about the composition of the Commission and accused three of the five Commissioners of conflicts of interest. At least three Commissioners are associated with a fund in Geneva, which was managed by former Grand Chancellor Boeselager.
According to Festing, he does not raise any personal accusations, but asserts that the personal and financial connections between at least three Commissioners and Boeselager, mean that "they are clearly prejudiced about their objective."
According to information in the National Catholic Register the three members of the inquiry commission are Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, Marc Odendall and Marwan Sehnaoui. Together with Boeselager, they are linked to a gift of 120 million Swiss francs, in favor of the Order.
The Vaticanist Edward Pentin wrote in an article that the majority of the commissioners were personal friends with the ex-chancellor, including Archbishop Tomasi.
The National Catholic Register reported: Boeselager has exercised with respect to the composition of the commission of inquiry, considerable pressure on the Vatican - according to information internal to the Order. It was therefore assumed that the Commission constituted a plea in favor of Boeselager.

Who Wants to Ruin the Maltese Order?

"Long before the civilized countries came to establish international law, long before they formulated the dream of a common force to protect the healthy freedom of man, the independence of peoples, and a peaceful equilibrium in their mutual relations, The Order of St. John had gathered in a religious fraternity with military discipline, men from eight different 'languages' dedicated to the defense of the spiritual values that form the common heritage and prerogative of Christianity: faith, justice, social order and peace ."
These words, which Pius XII. January 8, 1940, the Knights of the Saint John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order taught, summarize the essentials of the oldest order of knights, the only currently existing sovereign state whose flag flew on the field of the Crusades. An order whose charism was always, that which is stated in its motto: Tuitio fidei et Obsequium pauperum (Testimony of Faith and Help the Needy).
Is it possible that a pope wants to destroy this institution, which is the glory of Christianity? Unfortunately, this impression comes from the recent events that affect the Maltese presidency.
On December 27, 2016 a first reconstruction of these events was carried out at this point. Edward Pentin deepened and enriched the scenario in an article in the National Catholic Register on 7 January 2017 with further details. The following is a summary: On the 6th of December, the Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Grand Chancellor Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager, resigned in the presence of two witnesses, one of them the Cardinal Patron Raymond Leo Burke, and Fra Matthew Festing. It had come to light that Grand Chancellor Boeselager had abused his power during his term as the Grand Hospitaller of the Order by promoting the distribution of condoms and preventive means, even those with an abortive effect in Third World countries.
In spite of his promise of obedience (promises), which obliged him to the Grand Master, the Grand Chancellor refused to resign. Thereupon, proceedings against him were initiated which suspended him from the exercise of any offices. Boeselager appealed to the Vatican Secretariat for help, who appointed an investigation commission to collect "elements that were capable of informing the Holy See completely and swiftly of the matter which recently concerning the Grand Chancellor of the Order,  Mr. Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager," as the Vatican Press Office said on 22 December.
On December 23, the Grand Master of the Order declared the decision of the State Secretariat "unacceptable" and reminded the Vatican that Boeselager's dismissal is an "internal administrative act in the direction of the Sovereign Order of Malta and therefore falls exclusively within its jurisdiction."  In a further statement of 10 January, the Grand Master reaffirmed his intention not to cooperate with the Vatican Investigation Commission, "also to protect his own sovereignty against initiatives that occur in a form which is objective (and therefore independent of the intentions, legally irrelevant) aim at challenging or at least restricting this sphere."
The Vatican initiative immediately gave the impression of a sensational gaffe . The legal order of the Order of Malta is defined by the 1997 reformed constitution. Article 3 of the Constitution states in paragraph 1:
"The Order is the subject of international law and exercises the functions connected with the rights of sovereignty."
These functions are: the executive, represented by the Grand Master, assisted by the Sovereign Council; The Legislative, represented by the General Chapter; The judiciary, represented by the magistral tribunals. The Maltese Vicar provides diplomatic passports and has offices in Rome where he officially receives the representatives of more than 100 states with whom he has equal diplomatic relations. The Order enjoys priveleged relations with the Holy See, but in complete independence. The Holy See appoints a Cardinal Patron and an Ambassador to the Order, according to the provisions of international law. As Professor Paolo Gambi noted, the Order, in spite of its religious nature, which is common to ecclesiastical orders, occupies a completely special position, "enjoying an almost unique autonomy in the Church framework and the influence of this state [religious] is limited to  members with perpetual vows" (La Soberana Orden de Malta militar en el orden juridico eclesial e internacional , Ius Canonicum , XLIV, no. 87 (2004), pp 197-231).
Article 4, paragraph 6 of the Constitution of the Sovereign of Malta, is clear:
"The religious character of the Order does not preclude the exercise of the rights of sovereignty granted to it, insofar as the Order is the subject of state recognized by international law."
The confirmation of this international law status, even against the Holy See, the Pontifical Yearbook , in which the Order is mentioned only once, not among the religious orders, but among embassies accredited by the Holy See. The 1997 Constitution has eliminated various ecclesiastical interventions that have existed before, including the approval of the Holy See to validate the vows.

The responsibility of the Holy See on the religious life of the knights is limited to the members of the First Estate. These are the judges or professors who solemnly and forever take the three monastic vows. The members of the Second Class, the Knights and Ladies of obedience, take no vows, but are committed by the Promess of obedience and are therefore subject only to their superiors. Ex-Chancellor Albrecht von Boeselager is married and a father of five children, a layman and belongs to the Second Estate. He is not subordinate in any way to the Holy See. Apart from this, the Chevalier de Justice [Knight Judge] who (according to Art. 9, para. 1 of the Constitution) "Religious with all effects of Canon Law", are not obliged to live in community, which is an unicum representing the life of the Church. Fra Ludovico Chigi Albani della Rovere (1866-1951) was Prince and Grand Master of the Order from 1931-1951. After the death of his wife (1898), he gave solemn vows as a Judge, but still lived in the Palazzo Chigi, which until 1916 belonged to his family (at that time also home to the Austro-Hungarian Embassy and today is the seat of the Italian Prime Minister). There he led a life according to his status and rank.
Of course, the Church has the same right against the Maltese ordinance that it has against any sovereign state when it comes to problems that directly affect faith and morality. The Pope has the right and the duty to intervene in all political and social questions that have to do with the attainment of the highest goal of man, eternal life. When a state legitimates a natural sexual union, the pope has the duty to take a position and to challenge the grave violation of the Divine Law and Natural Law. When the Maltese ordinance promotes contraception and abortion, the Pope has the duty to raise his voice. Today, however, the opposite happens. The Church withdraws from its right of judgments on questions of morality which are of its own area and instead takes a position on political and administrative issues which are not part of its competence.
Christopher Lamb cited the Tablet of 5 January a letter from Cardinal Secretary of State Pietro Parolin, the went to Fra Matthew Festing on 21 December. In this, the Grand Master is informed that Pope Francis desires the rescission Boeselager's deposition.
"As I expressed to you in my previous letter of December 12, 2016, as far as the use and diffusion of methods and means contrary to the moral law, His Holiness has asked for a dialogue on the way in which possible problems are dealt with and can be solved. But he has never spoken of sending someone away!"
Let us summarize: for those who violate the law of God and natural law, there is dialogue and the outstretched hand. For those who, on the other hand, for those who defend the faith and Catholic morality, the truncheon of the political commissioner and the commission of inquiry is ready.
The group of knights around Albrecht von Boeselager is a secularized current in the Order, which would like to convert the Maltese order into a humanitarian NGO. On the other hand, the Order's current leadership is defined by fidelity to the religious roots of the Order. Perhaps that is their greatest sin, to which another is joined. In the course of more than 950 years of history, the Sovereign Order of Malta has never lost its aristocratic, chivalrous and sovereign form. This image represents the exact opposite of miserabilism and egalitarianism, represented by those who govern the Church today. The result is that clericalism is criticized, but in fact is practiced with devastating consequences. The massive interference of the State Secretariat in the name of Pope Francis provokes chaos and division in the interior of the Order.
In its long history, the Sovereign Maltese Knights has survived all vicissitudes. In the 250 years in Palestine, the 210 years on Rhodes, the 270 years on Malta, its mission seemed to have ended many times, and yet it rose again and again, even as the storm of the French Revolution and Napoleon swept across Europe. It is to be hoped that Grandmaster Fra Matthew Festing and the Sovereign Council, who stand by him, will be able to withstand decisively the strong pressure exerted on them in these days. Nobody could ever have doubted the love and affection of Grand-Master Ludovico Chigi Albani for the Pope, who, in his function as Marshal of the Holy Roman Church, took part in the election of three Popes. Nevertheless, he resisted every ecclesiastical attempt to interfere with the life of the Order. The Holy See had to recognize the sovereign nature of the Order of Malta "without interference by a secular or ecclesiastical authority," as Benedict XVI. remembered when he received the knight on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the granting of the privilege Pie postulatio voluntatis  on 15 February 1113. With this solemn act, Pope Benedict emphasized, "Paschalis II placed the young Brotherhood of Jerusalem, named after St. John the Baptist, under the protection of the Church and made it sovereign."
