Bishop WIlliamson: Rome Agreement With SSPX Here

On December 13 of last year, in St Martha’s House in Rome where the Pope is currently living, the Pope met briefly with Bishop Fellay, Superior General of the Society of St Pius X. The Society officially denies that the meeting had any significance, but an Italian commentator having some familiarity with how Rome operates, one Giacomo Devoto (G.D.), argues that the meeting was proof that a Rome-SSPX agreement has been reached. On the morning of the 13th Bishop Fellay and his two Assistants at the head of the SSPX met in the Vatican with the heads of the Ecclesia Dei Commission at the invitation of Monsignor Guido Pozzo, restored to the Commission by Pope Francis to deal with the problematic relations between Rome and the SSPX. An official publication of the SSPX, DICI, claims that this meeting was merely “informal,” but G.D. says that even being informal it cannot have taken place without there having been beforehand a series of discreet contacts to repair the public breach of relations in June of 2012. Also, says G.D., such a meeting is the necessary preliminary to any “formal” meeting.

In any case after that meeting Msgr. Pozzo, Msgr. di Noia and the three heads of the SSPX repaired to St Martha’s House where the Pope also happened to be lunching. When the Pope stood up after the meal to leave, Bishop Fellay went over to him, they exchanged a few words in public view and the Bishop kissed the Pope’s ring (or knelt down for his blessing, according to Rome’s Vatican Insider). DICI again minimised the encounter as nothing more than a chance meeting with a spontaneous exchange of courtesies. On the contrary G.D. reasonably maintains that even such a “chance” encounter cannot have taken place without the Pope’s previous knowledge and approval.

Powerful Jewish Interests Cancel Bishop's Visa

Edit: is it meaningless that he's a citizen of the Commonwealth, and that there is such a thing as free speech, supposedly?

[Jewish News] A Holocaust denying Catholic bishop who was due to visit Australia this month has had his visa cancelled after The AJN alerted the government to his views.

British cleric Richard Williamson has described Jews as “enemies of Christ” and claimed there’s no evidence to support the fact that six million Jews were killed during the Shoah.

At most, he said, the number if Jewish victims was 200,000 to 300,000, none of whom were killed in gas chambers.

CHURCH’S INFALLIBILITY -- III

The crazy words and deeds of Pope Francis are presently driving many believing Catholics towards sedevacantism, which is dangerous. The belief that the Conciliar Popes have not been and are not Popes may begin as an opinion, but all too often one observes that the opinion turns into a dogma and then into a mental steel trap. I think the minds of many sedevacantists shut down because the unprecedented crisis of Vatican II has caused their Catholic minds and hearts an agony which found in sedevacantism a simple solution, and they have no wish to re-open the agony by re-opening the question. So they positively crusade for others to share their simple solution, and in so doing many of them – not all -- end up displaying an arrogance and a bitterness which are no signs or fruits of a true Catholic.

Now these “Comments” have abstained from proclaiming with certainty that the Conciliar Popes have been true Popes, but at the same time they have argued that the usual sedevacantist arguments are neither conclusive nor binding upon Catholics, as some sedevacantists would have us believe. Let us return to one of their most important arguments, which is from Papal infallibility: Popes are infallible. But liberals are fallible, and Conciliar Popes are liberal. Therefore they are not Popes.

To this one may object that a Pope is certainly infallible only when he engages the four conditions of the Church’s Extraordinary Magisterium by teaching 1 as Pope, 2 on Faith or morals, 3 definitively, 4 so as to bind all Catholics. Whereupon sedevacantists and liberals alike reply that it is Church teaching that the Ordinary Universal Magisterium is also infallible, so – and here is the weak point in their argument – whenever the Pope teaches solemnly even outside of his Extraordinary Magisterium, he must also be infallible. Now their liberal Conciliar teaching is solemn. Therefore we must become either liberals or sedevacantists, depending of course on who is wielding the same argument.

[Update] Bishop Williamson Visits the “Resistance” in Germany

(London) Bishop Williamson, who was expelled from the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X. , wants to visit Germany in the next few days. He wants to meet priests and laity of the SSPX to encourage them to break away. The plan seems to include the consecration of a chapel in a small monastery in houses. Similar to the Carmelite Sisters of Brilon, the chaplain   had urged the separation from the Fraternity of St. Pius X, but took place  years ago, because the Society of St. Pius X. rejects sedevacantism.
Bishop Williamson is to visit also the sisters in Brilon Forest, which recently by parted from the Society of St. Pius X. Another stop is expected to be Wigratzbad. There was recently a priest in the 25th Year of his consecration a sedisvakantistische community, about over 50 people.  Previously, he worked for the Society of St. Pius X. believers in Überlingen. In Constance, he founded the club Saint Thomas Aquinas  and V. to get established. He has  been the Spiritual Director of the monastery for years  in close contact with the sisters there and he preaches the spiritual exercises regularly. He left the Society before, but returned once more to her. For some time he hasn’t prayed  for the Pope during Holy Mass, which was viewed very critically by his superiors and confreres.
Bishop Williamson is expected to be a private visit to Ober-Ramstadt, where he attended a newlywed couple, originally from him in a chapel of the Society of St. Pius X. wanted to get married. This was forbidden by the German District Superior of the Society of St. Pius X, Father Franz Schmidberger, whereupon the Prior of Rheinhausen wed the couple.
The dispute between the leaders of the Society of St. Pius X. and the situation around  Williamson continues to escalate. A splitting or separation of this group is imminent. At a wedding, which took place recently, a German Prior openly criticized the Superior General of the SSPX, Bishop Bernard Fellay as a “traitor". The same has been said by a priest during last year's Pentecost pilgrimage. Observers interpret this as a threat of force to impose the upper a particular opinion without wanting to leave the SSPX itself.
Many priests were present at the aforementioned wedding who had left the SSPX years ago, well before the talks with the Vatican and priests who left the Society recently and officially denounce the present course of the Fraternity as "modernist". Some of these priests, went after their departure initially, surprisingly to communities standing close to the Vatican, but left it again quickly to seek out "vagantes".
Laymen, who  openly position themselves sedisvacantist, earned a  ban by the German District Superior. You may in specific cases currently still receive the sacraments in the chapels of the SSPX, but not distribute leaflets and not to incite unrest. Such measures are nothing special and were immediately imposed by district leaders since the founding of the SSPX.
 Layman who’ve been banned are supposed to have co-organized  Bishop Williamson’s trip. Bishop Williamson is clearly testing how much and what kind of support he can expect in Germany.
Most of the "priests in the resistance"  were already expelled years before for disobedience and intemperate criticism of superiors. Transfers and composition of priory communities were often the main points of criticism. Whether the "resistance priests” themselves are under an authority or establish their own initiatives where they are the only authority themselves remains to be seen.
Since the "theological" justification for the "resistance" moves on thin ice and the talks between the Vatican and the Society of St. Pius X. seem to be misinterpreted, the conflict provides the current [? Father Firmin Udressy?] superior of the German district, Father Franz Schmidberger, more on a personal level: described the behavior in a preface of his newsletter in April 2013 as  "stubbornness, self-righteousness, condescension, addiction to criticism, false dialectic, mockery and malice".
The Society of St. Pius X. has endured since its inception from attacks on the top, on the one hand of progressives, on the other side from sedivacantists. Therefore regular articles on the part of the SSPX are regularly published like Rightful disobedience to authority and Mgr Lefebvre: About the negotiations with Rome.
Bishop Williamson extended the position of sedevacantism for weeks in his periodical Eleison Comments  and the direction begins to differentiate itself from Archbishop Lefebvre. Presumably he is trying to found the St. Marcel Center of the global initiative to expand sedevacantism the future.
Since its founding in 1970 by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, the Society of St. Pius X  has lost two or three priests per district every year,  because they were dissatisfied with their superiors, or they were excluded because they refused, “to pay their rightful leaders  due respect and obedience. "
The SSPX claims to have 569 priests worldwide according to its report in 2012. The number of faithful, who are connected to it should include, according to Cardinal Darío Castrillón Hoyos in 2007, about 600,000 people, including 100,000 in France. Other sources mention 150,000 followers.
Blogs and forums of "resistance" currently claim there are  22 priests who are supposed to be associated with this initiative worldwide.
Bishop Williamson was convicted in January in Regensburg court on the charges of incitement for a fine of 1800 Euros.The district court justified the relatively small fine with the fact that Williamson currently enjoys no income according to the court. Williamson is appealing against the judgment before an appeal.
[Update 17:06 clock: Williamson's visit in Germany is making the process of reconciliation between the Society of St. Pius X.and the Vatican enormously difficult, if not halting it entirely, which is most certainly his intention.
He writes in his column of 9 March ""We think that lifting the excommunications would set in motion an irresistible process of drawing closer, with a view to an agreement between the Holy See and the SSPX, or at least an agreement with a large part of the SSPX priests and faithful." Comment: indeed the friendly contacts between Rome and the SSPX were setting such a motion in process in January of 2009, and only an outburst from within the SSPX of the most horrible heresy of modern times - "anti-semitism" - stopped that process. But either Catholic reconciliation with Vatican II is no problem, or one has to say that that outburst was providential, because it also stopped, at least for a while, the false reconciliation.” In the article published in February’s column he writes: And historical truth goes by evidence, the most reliable kind of which is the material relics of the past, because these are in principle quite independent of human emotions.
Bishop Williamson is indifferent, in his own words, to whether his statements could be used in Germany or not, even if he refrained from publishing his words, because he pursues another goal with the help of Holocaust "denial", namely the torpedoing of the talks between Rome and the Fraternity. This intention should correspond to the so-called Dolus eventualis, according to which the offender holds for the possible success of its commission as a result of the seriousness of his actions and condones it to hazard the conditions and accept it. In other words, Bishop Williamson has deliberately committed a crime as a provocation in order to achieve a different purpose, the torpedoing of the talks between Rome and the Fraternity.
That Bishop Williamson cites in this context on the one hand the truths of divine revelation, and on the other hand sees his actions as inspired by the Divine Providence, it is an interesting insight into his state of mind.]

SSPX Sisters of Carmel Leave Brilon Wald Opt for Bishop Williamson



The Carmel Sisters clarification, who will leave the SSPX before long, will be relocating their cloister to southern Germany. Furthermore, because of SSPX Bishop Williamson who was excluded because of disobedience,  is asked by the sisters to exercise jurisdiction. The sisters want to leave their enclosure in the future "regularly"  to ensure their livelihood.
The Communication was briefly the reason for the rift with the SSPX, but lacks concrete will. It is argued generally that, in the run of the German district of the SSPX company Sarto (publisher and bookstore) doubtful books are distributed and published in the finances are newspaper Ecclesiastical Umschau "continuously publishing offensive items by conservative representatives of the official Church." Otherwise they refer to unnamed websites of resistance", where the Liberalism" of the Society of St. Pius X.  has been “collected in evidence".
Sister Marie Theonilla worked before joining the camel as a hair stylist and was, after making her final vows. the German founding prioress Brilon Wald. The monastery has been unable to hold the many vocations of sisters. The women who left the convent before taking their vows have been critical, including the censorship of the Prioress. Back in the 80s and 90s the Prioress would cut the articles from publications of the Fraternity of St. Pius X before passing them on to the sisters. Currently, eight sisters live in the community, which was founded in 1984.
Their announcement concludes with an appeal for donations in the amount of 700.000, - € for a "small building”.

Bishop Williamson Found Guilty in Regensburg of "Inciting Hatred"

Edit: a man can be tried as many times in German courts as they need to get a verdict they like, apparently.

 Regensburg (kath.net/KNA)  The District Court of Regensburg has found British traditionalist Bishop Richard Williamson (72) guilty of inciting hatred [Volksverhetzung] for a fine.  This will be 1,800 Euro, significantly lower than the 6,500 desired by the prosecutor.  The court had mitigated the sentence because +Williamson had tried after his interview with the Swedish broadcaster to keep his statements from spreading in Germany.  The attorney for the Bishop, Andreas Geipel, appealed immediately against the verdict after it was ruled.

+Williamson had estimated the number of Jews murdered by the Nazis at the most, at 300,000, and denied the existence of gas chambers.  The Judge, Andrea Hausladen said, that the Bishop had done this before running cameras and established his views at length over several minutes.  In conclusion of the recording he did not insist on any limitation of the use of the materials.  That was given as necessary for an intent to incite hatred.

+Williamson could have easily said that he didn't want any distribution in Germany, said the Judge.  "He didn't do that."   Otherwise the defendant had to know that other media would report over this explosive interview.  In this manner he at least tacitly approved of its distribution.  The defendant had, according to his earlier legal representative, Maximilian Krah, regretted his statements.  More importantly was the time of the broadcast, stressed Hausladen.

As far as the statement of Krah, that +Williamson had answered the questions of the journalists with "vanity and extensively" on the Holocaust, the Judge said: "Vanity sometimes leads one to do something which he later regrets."  As further grounds for the mitigating of the sentence, Hausladen introduced +Williamson's dismissal from the Society in October of last year, as well as the four year long duration of the proceedings.  The size of the penalty in consideration is difficult to ascertain. +Williamson lives at present exclusively on grants from friends.

His defender, Geipel described the verbal justification of the court as "not comprehensible".  The assertion that his client had pre-meditatively acted is an "innuendo".   Previous to the trial Geipel and his colleage Edgar Weiler spoke of a previous judgement of +Williamson.  In his pleading they talked about the expressions of the traditional Bishop, that they had been completely careless.  They moved for a dismissal to all public bodies.

+Williamson had already been condemned in a trial for a fine.  The decision was dismissed in February of 2012 by Nurenburg Superior Court because of procedural errors.

With his comments the Briton sparked an international scandal, because shortly after the publication of the interview, the Vatican announced that Pope Benedict XVI. had lifted the excommunications of +Williamson and three other traditionalist bishops. Later the Vatican explained, that the pope did not know about +Williamson's remarks about the Holocaust.

Bishop Williamson Openly Declares Himself

Edit: this just appeared on the Facebook group of "St. Pius X Fathers Pfeifer and Chazal on Facebook" with a picture of Bishop Williamson who appears to be now openly leading a rebellion he hopes to catch.
Ten priests of the resistance with Bishop Williamson at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Boston, Kentucky. Perhaps 10 more could have attended if not obligated to remain in their place by their pastoral duties. Many SSPX priests are in communication with the resistance, and undoubtedly more will join the resistance if things continue to worsen inside "Opus Fellay."

Bishop Williamson Willing to Consecrate New Bishops

Edit: This is the following letter from the Eleison Comments.  Bishop Williamson sounds like he's going to slowly move to the next step.  He wants to avoid dividing the Society:
After last week’s presentation of details of the “Marcellus Initiative” set up to facilitate donations to the cause of an « expelled » bishop, a few readers reasonably asked what the “Initiative” would be for. To begin with, it will cover his personal expenses of moving out of Wimbledon, maybe out of London, and then living elsewhere. Over and above those expenses, the word “Initiative” was chosen deliberately to leave options open. However, it is important that nobody should think that their donations will any time soon go to the setting up of a replacement for the Society of St Pius X or a substitute seminary. There are good reasons for not hurrying to do either.
As for an alternative to the SSPX, we must learn the lessons to be drawn from its present severe crisis. The Catholic Church runs on authority, from the Pope downwards, but our Revolutionary world has today so broken down men’s natural sense of authority that few know how to command, and most men obey either too little or too much. We have, so to speak, run out of that peasant common sense that enabled Catholic authority to function. Thus as God alone could establish Moses’ authority by a sensational chastisement of rebels (cf. Numbers XVI), so in our day surely God alone will be able to restore the Pope’s authority. Will it be by ”a rain of fire”, such as Our Lady of Akita forewarned in Japan in 1973 ? Be that as it may, oases of the Faith remain an immediate and practical possibility, and I will do my best to serve them.

Bishop Williamson's First Move


Edit: Some of the speculation of what Bishop Williamson is going to do should be sorted out now. It remains to be seen how many gather under his banner, although he has encouraged those who are sympathetic to him to stay where they are. He and the rest of the Society are determined to keep as much unity as possible.  He's also asking for money.
IT SEEMS THAT, today, God wants a loose network of independent pockets of Catholic Resistance, gathered around the Mass, freely contacting one another, but with no structure of false obedience, which served to sink the mainstream Church in the 1960’s and is now sinking the Society of St. Pius X. If you agree, make contributions to the St. Marcel Initiative; they will certainly come in useful. For myself, once my situation stabilizes, I am ready to put my bishop’s powers at the disposal of whoever can make wise use of them. —His Excellency Bishop Richard Williamson, London, November 3, 2012

Is Bishop Williamson's Expulsion in Connection With the Gas Chamber Question?

The timid German speaker for the Society of St. Pius X has told the slanderous extortionate media what they want to hear.

(kreuz.net)  Bishop Richard Williamson has been being removed for years by the leadership of the Society of St. Pius X, and has refused to render obedience.

This is what Fr. Andreas Steiner, the speaker of the German District said on Wednesday in Stuttgart to the news agency 'dpa'.

Exclusion for the Vatican Reconciliation?

The article cited an indirect statement by Father Steiner:  "The decision is in connection with the interview for Swedish television by the Bishop, in which he [allegedly] denied the Holocaust."


The scandal sheet ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’ mentioned another sentence from the interview.

Therefore, Father Steiner is as yet entertaining illusions about the Vatican negotiations: "The decision will certainly make the discussions with the Vatican easier."

Unfounded Misjudgment

The Catholic publicist Robert Ketelhohn rebutted both statements by Father Steiner in the forum 'kreuzgang.org' as "rotten cheese".

It is to act according to an unfounded misjudgment.

It is completely and utterly absurd canonically speaking to have made for an expulsion with the statements by Msgr. Williamson about the gas chambers in Auschwitz.

Then it would Bend the Law


Apart from that  "in this situation he bends the law as a serious offense to the superior."

Ketelhohn is astonished at this that Father Steiner bends the law to the superior without noticing it. [In German Law, Rechtsbeugung is a serious offense where a Judge proves to be partial either for or against a case.  It contains a sentence of five years.]

This is clearly meant, "to please the media".

And Yet Jewish Special Interest is Irreconcilable

Father Steiner's obvious illusions about understanding the world will not hold for long.

For the anti-Catholic "Jewish World Congress", the expulsion has come "too late".

The credibility of the Society of St. Pius X could "not" be reestablished -- was its familiar stitch.

Additionally, the usual Jewish campaigning organization 'Anti-Defamation League' defamed that the exclusion of Msgr. Richard Williamson has not paid for the guilt of his "detestable views".

Bishop Williamson Will Find Support at Least in Brazil

Both Can't be Right at the Same Time

Edit:  the place where the straw was placed that broke the camel's back is in Brazil at a traditional monastery where Bishop Williamson confirmed some children this summer against the wishes of his superiors in the SSPX who did not want him performing any public ministry.  The Prior of this place wrote a brief letter to kreuz.net which we've translated here.  It describes the lines at which the Society will fracture if it does.

So long as Old Liberal Rome rules eternal Rome and so long as the largest confusion in Church history -- the Second Vatican Council -- reigns, there will be no solution.  by Father Tomas de Aquino OSB

(kreuz.net) At present there are two currents in Tradition:  the one wants unity with Rome and the other doesn't.

The one and the other

Some say: We must enter the Church.

The others think:  Whoever is already in, doesn't have to enter.

But we need canonical regularization -- answer the others.

Such is the case with French Benedictine Cloister Le Barroux and the Apostolic Administration of Campos in Brazil and many other cases -- say the second class.

But we won't fall.  It is impossible that God would let this happen. [Neither is it a guarantee that you won't fall in your sonderweg.]

"Wherefore he that thinketh himself to stand, let him take heed lest he fall," is the warning of St. Paul in the 1st Corinthians 10:12.

The evil endures

The same reason will cause the effect to come.

If Benedict XVI canonizes those who excommunicated Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (+1991) and Bishop Antonio Castro Mayer (+1991), if he celebrates the Jubilee of Assisi, if he defends the Second Vatican Council as conforming with Tradition, then one can see that the evils of the Pontificate of John Paul II have continued under Benedict XVI.

Rome is changing?

But Rome is changing, say the defenders of the negotiations.

In which direction?  Rome allows the Old Mass and removed the Excommunications -- they answer.

But what use is it to allow the Mass of All Times, if Rome allows both forms of Liturgy. [This was a status quo which Archbishop Lefebvre would have accepted.  He was willing to accept far less earlier on.  These concessions by Pope Benedict is actually quite astonishing and have caused untold handwringing on the part of Liberals who wish to pretend that the first 2,000 years of the Church had never happened.]

The New Mass is Hagar

We read in Holy Writ: Cast out the bondwoman and her son; for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the free woman. (Gal 4:30).

Abraham obeyed against his will and made a  contract against it for his wife Sara.

God gave Sara the right, because what is free should not be given over to enslavement.

The New Mass is Hagar, which has no right.  It should be exiled.

Contradictory Context

What the lifting of the excommunications of the Society Bishops refers to: What use is it, to return if one canonizes that which had pronounced against you?

Indeed these two facts do not grasp a certain canonical use.

Actually the spiritual use of the freeing of the Old Mass, which had never been forbidden, and the lifting of the excommunications, which were never valid, is put very much in question by  a contradictory context, in which it would be denounced.

Both may not be right at the same time

 Either John Paul II is right or Archbishop Lefebvre.

One can't praise John Paul II and at the same time withdraw the excommunication of Msgr Lefebvre, in so far as they were really taken back.

Both can't be right at the same time.  That is pure Modernism.

The result is a contradiction

It's the same relative to the Mass.

If both are allowed, the result is a contradiction.

That is the beginning of the solution and the destruction of the Catholic Faith.

It must be composed at the beginning

The defender of the Roman offer will say that Rome can not end the past crisis with a conflict.

Human efforts will not solve it immediately.

In order to end the past chaos, it will require a lot of time.  That is doubtless.

But the beginning of this order will come when the Pope has the intention to initiate this.

How Napoleon?

The question arises now: does Benedict XVI want to create Church order?

Of course -- is what some defenders answer.

Nothing is less certain than that -- say we.

To create order in the Church, does not mean, as like it was with Napoleon, to control the Revolution and institutionalize it in this manner.

In order to create chaos, you need a little order -- says the writer and Catholic Brazilian thinker Gustavo Corçăo (+ 1978).

Reconciliation With Liberalism

Benedict XVI.  is a man of order.  But the order which he wants will not be motivated by the royal grandeur of Jesus Christ.

For him the problem lies in the Council, to bring together two hundred years of Liberal culture.

That is what Benedict XVI works for.

Does a Modernist Fight Modernism?

Actually, the others say: Benedict XVI is on the front defending Tradition.  He told us. He wants our help in order to fight Modernism.

This is what was said in Campos too.

How can Benedict XVI need our help in the struggle against Modernism, when he himself is a Modernist?

He can only fight against Modernism, when he has given up Modernism.

The complete Faith

I don't know.  What I know is, that St. Anselm of Canterbury said, that God desires nothing so much on the face of the earth than the freedom of His Church.

Actually, a Tradition, which has no interest to stand for the completeness of the Catholic Faith, is the opposite of that which God loves.

But how can you recognize Tradition and the Church?  Naturally, because the Church is Traditional in its nature and it can never give up this quality.

We are the sons of freedom

We is Benedict XVI., if he is not a Traditionalist?  He is a Liberal Pope, who has subjugated the Church.

To put ones self under his authority, without challenging these errors, would be the same as putting Sara under the same yolk as Hagar or Isaac under the same yoke as Ismael.

We are the sons of the free and not slaves, whose are sons of the Second Vatican Council -- a slave of a two hundred year old Liberal culture.

Through Prayer and Struggle

What is the solution, then?  The penitence of the Pope.

How can one bring about this penitence?  Through prayer and struggle.

God doesn't want victory from us, rather battle, as St. Joan of Arc said:

"The soldiers will stubble and God will give the victory" -- through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

There is our entire hope.

Rorate Reports, finally: Bishop Williamson Expelled

Edit: you would have heard it here first at least in English.
Rorate has learned and can confirm that Bishop Richard Williamson, one of the four bishops consecrated by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre and co-consecrated by Bishop Antonio de Castro Mayer on June 30, 1988, in Écône, Switzerland, for the Society of Saint Pius X (FSSPX / SSPX) has been removed from membership in said society by its Superior General, and can now be considered a former member. The removal comes at the end of an internal procedure that included repeated entreaties by the higher authorities of the Society regarding Williamson's decisions and actions that apparently went unheeded.
Kreuz.net says he doesn't have the administrative abilities to really rebuild an alternative society.  The proof of that was probably to be had in the fact that the coup which he planned in the General Chapter at the end of August didn't go off as he'd hoped.

Depending on how things work out, he wouldn't be the last man to be kicked out of something he helped to build and sweated over, still, it's not the end of the world.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring?  After all, we just had a story recently about Father Barthe who is the Spiritual Director of the Traditional Pilgrimage to Rome who was himself a sedevacantist.

Whatever happens, you haven't seen the last of Bishop Williamson.

In Addition:

 Kreuz.net, also has reported and acknowledges Rorate's information on the Bishop's expulsion fromt he Society.

The expulsion is the result of an internal investigation, which the authorities of the Society had over numerous times forbid his public comments.

The website 'lesalonbeige.blogs.com' reported this afternoon that the decision took place and was complete.

Msgr. Williamson is expelled.

The official website of the Society has still not announced the expulsion.

It is uncertain if the Society has understood the theological significance of the expulsion of a Bishop. [Thanks to Novus Ordo Watch for the correction.]

Obéissance or Explusion -- Bishop Williamson Receives Ultimatum

(Menzigen)  The break, indicated since October 2011 between Bishop Richard Williamson and the Society of St. Pius X has come to an end phase.  The General Superior of the Society of St. Pius X, Bernard Fellay, should have issued an ultimatum to his English colleague in the office of Bishop.  With the document he demanded that Msgr. Williason, within ten days, accept the legitimate authority of the General Superior.  This was reported by Andrea Tornielli.  Should Bishop Williamson continue to maintain his disobedience,separation would be the logical consequence.

The relations between the General Superior and Bishop Williamson has been in a dive since the previous year.  Williamson is the most famous and combative opponents of the General Superior and his efforts in preparing to reconcile with the Holy See.  The seriousness of the quarrel was shown with the reconciliation talks between the Society and the Holy See was shown in Autumn of 2011, as Msgr. Fellay called all superiors of the Society to Albano Laziale, in order to inform them about the "Doctrinal Preamble" of the Holy See, and to discuss continued procedures.  The General Superior demanded Msgr Williamson then not to participate in the Council.  Actually, the insubordinate Bishop did not come to Albano Laziano near Rome.  Since Spring of 2012, the General Superior told +Williamson not to give any more lectures, to act pastorally or to act in the distribution of Sacraments.  At the General Chapter of 2012 Msgr. Williamson was again not invited.

Then the definitive moment of clarity took place, according to which Msgr. Williamson active in Brazil definitively against the will of the Society.

Because of Williamson's 2009 statements about the "Shoah", Rome was given observable stomach pains about a reconciliation with the Society and also to his recognition and acceptance as Bishop.  The exclusion of +Willaimson from the Society did not directly affect the reunification talks with Rome, but would certainly be taken with lightening toward recognition.   After that it became known that the other Bishops had written a severely critical letter against their General Superior and against unification with Rome, and  the Congregation of the Doctrine and the Faith explained that the position of Bishop Williamson, Tissier de Mallerais and de Gallereta would be handled independently in a possible unification.

For the General Superior of the Society, there the question in any case is not the mental state of Rome, rather the continued disobedience which Bishop Williamson shows to date.  The sedevacantist fringe of the Society has exerted a process of eroding on the Society for months.  In the USA there is in place a new type of "Society", which is now describing itself as the "true" Society of St. Pius X.  Its members insist that Msgr. Fellay is the legitimate successor of Archbishop Lefebvre,  whom they never the less refuse to obey, and who wish to enact in miniature, the situation between the Society and Rome.

New German Charges Against the British Hero-Bishop

Illegal According to International Law

The muzzle-justice of the organizations pursuing the Third Reich continue to embarrass themselves.  The attorney of the Society has already announced that he is prepared to appeal against the new summary order of punishment.

 (Kreuz.net) The Nazi-mad Federal Court of Regensburg has renewed its summary order of punishment against Hero-Bishop Richard Williamson (72) for incitement of the people.

The new accusation is seeking a penalty of 100 days at the daily rate. (It's indeterminate now what they'll charge him per day, but it will probably be similar to the 65 euro amount, which is 6,500 euros total)

 A court speaker is angered -- that Msgr Williamson -- is not punishable by German law -- has allegedly defamed the gas methods during the anti-Catholic Third Reich. The German summary punishment is illegal according to international law. 

Now they will once again roll out the failed court case. Preliminarily, the attorney of Bishop Williamson has announced, that he is against proceeding in the case of a new summary punishment.

Occupational Therapy for Muzzle-Justice

The proceedings have been ongoing since 2009.

At the appeal in 2011 the German State desired 100 days at a daily rate of 65 euros, therefore, 6,500 euros.

The Supreme Court of Nurnberg declared the Society Bishop free of any adverse judgements resulting from the trial, but allowed for a new trial. [Can you say double-jeopardy?]

Bishop Williamson Will Be Expelled

The only conceivable result of the Vatican negotiations with the Society of St. Pius X consists in that Rome in the future will have two Societies to confront.

This was learned by kreuz.net and reported recently.

A Hot Potato

The last cause for the exclusion was an unauthorized Confirmation by the Bishop in South  America in the past August.

Already for years, the General Superior of the Society, Bishop Benard Fellay, in vain, had put a muzzle on Msgr Williamson.

So also it was expected of him that he would cease his weekly e-mail commentary.  But the Bishop continued to publish.

Another Society?

It is yet to be seen that the Bishop will found another Society with other exiled priests.

Then it may be only a question of time, till he will ordain Bishops.

It is still in question, if he has the necessary organizational talent and energy to build a new structure.

Besides it passes as egocentric.

In view of the expected scenario many observers regard the shutting out Bishop Williamson as a fatal mistake.

SSPX Priest Urges Bishop Williamson to Come to General Chapter

A unification did not take place --- but perhaps it will produce at least a division?

(kreuz.net)  On the 29th of June Father Charles Moulin -- the prior of the Society of Saint Pius X in the 340,000 population city of Nice in the southernmost part of France -- has written an open letter to Bishop Richard Williamson.

 The letter is a reaction to the exclusion of the Bishop's appearance from the next General Chapter in Econe.

Good wishes only for the enemy?

Father Moulin is a fellow student of Bishop Fellay.

He notes on this that the "enemies of yesterday" have been treated with enormous friendliness:

For that reason it is also the case that his old "brothers in arms" who have, after so many years, could be excused a certain lack of obedience.

The freedom to defend the true Doctrine

Father Moulin stresses that the freedom to speak of Bishop Richard Williamson would be an enormous benefit to the General Superior.

Finally, he was very concerned about future prospect of independence of the Society in Apostolate and speech during  the negotiations with the Vatican.

This freedom, to defend the true doctrine, is a "true and traditional privilege of every Catholic Bishop".

Attack on unity

Father Moulin can also not imagine that the General Superior by the next chapter would bypass the wisdom and insight of Msgr. Williamson.

He recalled then that Msgr Fellay as a seminarian was one of the most acute listeners of the "masterful lectures" of Bishop Williamson at the seminary in Econe.

The Father can also not imagine that the General Superior would want to shut a Bishop out from the Chapter, whom Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre (+1991) himself chose.

That would break the close unity of the Society which the Archbishop desired.

He knows the enemy.

For Father Moulin, Msgr Williamson is an effective bulwark as a convert from Anglicanism, to prevent the "ever possible" protestantization of the Society.

He described Msgr Williamson as one of the greatest students of the subversive tactics of the Modernists, Old Liberals and enemies of the Church.

Solidarity of the Other SSPX Bishops?

Finally, Father feared even that the two other Bishops, Msgr Bernard Tissier de Mallerais and Msgr Alfonso de Gallareta, will stay away from the General Chapter out of solidarity.

The Father wishes that the participants of the General Chapter will find time to observe the words of St. John Chrysostom:

"There are more reasons to trust the wounds inflicted by a friend, than the kisses bestowed by an enemy."

Pope Complained of German Bishops Forsaking Him

It is to laugh:  As the Church-hate media use Bishop Richard Williamson as a pretext to get started on the Pope, he expects backing from the German Judas-Bishops. -kreuz.net 

(kreuz.net, Vatican)  The book from Italian journalist Gianluigi Nuzzi, armed with books from the 'Vatican Leaks', is a hastily knit messy framework.

This was established by the German news "Welt" yesterday.

Nuzzis' book is entitled "Sua Santita -- Le Carte Segrrete di Benedetto XVI" -- Or, His Holiness -- the Secret Letters of Benedict XVI.

It was published two weeks ago.

"Only civilly married"

Nuzzis' book cites hundreds of secret documents or memos and handwritten notes from the Pope.

The facsimile of thirty confidential letters are in the appendix at the end.

Many of the  papers are confidential letters concerned only with Italian affairs -- "a dinner between the Pope and the President of Italy, also the dismissal of the chief editor of 'Avvenire', the newspaper of the Italian bishops' conference,"  says the newspaper.

At dinner with the ex-Communist and Italian President Giorgio Napolitano they discussed family law, euthanasia, abortion and children.

There is only one note about the Italian president on the Vatican document, "Only married civilly."

Massive Donation Slump

Another letter comes from the emeritus Cardinal Paolo Sardi (76) -- the Pro-Patron of the Order of Malta.

He criticized the poor coordination of the various departments in the Vatican.

A letter of the Papal delegate to the beleaguered congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, Cardinal Velasio De Paolis (76) reported on the massive donation slump of the order and their severe financial situation.

A protest against the Pope insultress

A memo to the German Nuncio, Archbishop Jean-Claude Perisset, asked for "a clear word of protest" directed at the Bundeschancellor Angela Merkel.

This statement refers to her interference in the lifting of the Excommunications against the four Bishops of the Society of St. Pius X in 2009.

The chapter on the German Chancellor contained seven pages.

Benedict XVI noted himself in his report the word "media tsunami".

In Nuzzis' book, there were also conflicts specified  between the Old Liberal Mainz Cardinal Karl Lehmann and the Pope.

But there's even more -- at 'Weltbild'

In an interview with the German 'Tageschau' Nuzzi said that onoly some documents in his book come from the Pope himself.

During the media scandal regarding Bishop Richard Williamson the Pope personally criticized to the German Nuncio that the German Judas-Bishops did not defend him. [Remember when Father Schmidberger of the SSPX did just that?]

Nuzzi explained still more that there were still more documents regarding "Weltbild" [The pornography distributor of the German Bishops].

This information could be included in a planned German version of the work.
