This can mean only 1 thing.....they all know that Francis' time is running out (either he's secretly quite ill, or he's going to pull another Benedict XVI surprise and quit).
Parolin maneuvering to be Pope? HAHAHAHAHAHA! This guy ruined the Secretariat of State office and nearly bankrupted the Vatican. The Vatican financial crisis is his and Francis' fault. That he's still in office proves that this Vatican is a circus!

As for Ouelette of Canada, he's too old. Not conservative enough....a wimp. He's Prefect for Bishops but has been sidelines by the homo-clique close to Francis.

I predict the next Pope will not be a Francis clone, or even a Francis cardinal. He will be a Benedict XVI cardinal probably in his very early 70's, OR a total outsider recruited from outside the Sacred College.....a well known Bishop...or maybe even just a priest....known as traditional and orthodox who is respected and well admired in Rome. Young enough to be around almost as long as JPII to undo the rot of Francis. One thing for sure, the mess being stirred up in Germany will be brought to a halt, Cardinal Marx et al will be excommunicated by the new Pope.

Damian M. That would throw the viper's den of Francis' Vatican into caos....to be swept clean by a new Pope very much the opposite of Francis and his people.

I read that so many Cardinals (even created by Francis), remain silent for fear of their positions, but in secrete they HATE him and his agenda. So perhaps that speaks well of the next conclave.

Damian M. Thanks be to God he is with us to bring hope in the Church's present catastrophic condition. The foreseeable future is indeed bleak and getting worse. But such is the prelude to a magnificent rebirth later.
