"Exorcist Course is Laughing Stock of Rome -- Only the Pope Takes This Stuff Seriously"

There is a "bad spirit" about Rome, according to Australian priest Father John Corrigan.
(Rome) Every year a course for the training of exorcists takes place in Rome. It is relatively strongly emphasized, unlike other events in the media. The 2019 XIV. Course was held from the 6th to11th of May.
An Australian priest John Corrigan reported on his blog on May 25 on the course in which he participated.
Exorcist Course 2019
First, Father Corrigan anticipated that the conference itself was "excellent," but that he felt a "hatred" for Rome. He loves the history, the wonderful churches and also the food. At the same time, however, he perceives a depressing spirit that lies above Rome, which was also noticeable in his most recent stay in "two unfortunate incidents".
The first "incident" reported by Father Corrigan is to be reproduced here:
"Item 1: A cardinal was invited to speak at our conference. For 15 minutes, he spoke about the reality of the devil, and the gravity of spiritual warfare, and the importance of prayer and fasting. The content, in fact, was quite good. The speaker however . . . This cardinal is notorious for his sordid double life. It’s alleged that Vatican Police once caught him at a drug-fuelled orgy, but he was whisked away before Italian Police were called — because he’s a cardinal. I asked one of the Aussie priests in Rome why this guy was invited to speak at the conference. His answer dismayed me: “You have to understand, this exorcism course is the laughing stock of Rome. The pope takes this stuff seriously, but many others don’t. Having a cardinal lends the conference respectability — and any cardinal will do. Bella figura!
Father Corrigan was appalled by his countryman's cynical answer. You can feel it. Above all, the question arises as to what resistance the exorcist training is subjected to within the Church. Anyone who sent the said cardinal to give the convention a touch of glamor and prestige obviously did not like it well.
The case of the cardinal mentioned is well known. But because the priest does not name his blog, we do not want to do it, but link to a possible "trail." And add that this is not Ex-Cardinal Theodore McCarrick.

Pope Francis has already stated that hell does not exist. That would mean that he does not believe in the devil.

Here we have another confusing and contradictory situation in the Church. What's being said here is that our modern theologians dismiss the devil as a myth. However, Pope Francis in his more or less Catholic moments does a very good job of educating us about the devil. Note: https://churchpop.com/2014/10/07/13-pope-francis-quotes-oldest-foe-devil/

I have no answer for this conundrum. But the idea that Pope Francis believes in the devil is at least encouraging.

Note that the exorcism course was held at the Legion of Christ’s institute of higher learning, Regina Apostolorum. Say what you will about them, they are soldiering on, militia Christi.

He "believes" in the devil because he works for him.

Think that's too much? Friends, the man...wants...Catholics...to...invoke...spirits.

The best way to get rid of "spirits" is to drink them. This guy would drive anyone to drink who has any moral base. Indeed, that would be a sign of "doing the devil's work" as our previous commenter so nobly pointed out.

Dear Mr. Dowd,
Francis is either a satanist or an atheist. He hates Christianity, as mundabor.wordpress.com is always saying. What Kathleen1031 has said is more likely than what you said. He must be treated as an atheist.

I’m Sure that the exorcist priests already have his number... or in other words, they are already on to him, for years, I’d figure. They are straight shooters and do not fool around or mince words, thank God. They know the demonic nonsense when they see it or sense it!

The Cardinal's picture is unsettling, as is the report itself.

However, should we not allow that the cardinal may also be genuinely striving against his besetting sin; evidently that of abero-carnality?

Leaving aside the trite opinion of the Aussie priest in Rome - demonic possession being no laughing matter - my guess is that a presentation to an exorcism course by the cardinal could be very interesting indeed - which is neither to defend or promote the man; rather also to allow that most attendees, by definition, will have been keen spiritual discernment students with minimal need for protection from the demonic.

Was anything else expected from Cardinal "Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs"?

The explanation is that the Hell is a place meant only for the Devil and his fallen angels after they were kicked out of heaven. So Francis believes that humans do not go there. Thats why he believes in the Devil, but not Hell.
