Holy Week Reflection

Palm Sunday Procession in Kenya

By David Martin

Each year on Palm Sunday we commemorate Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem when He cleansed the temple of the money changers and those who had sought to profane the temple with their worldly ways.
This pivotal Lent of 2019 is the appropriate time to bring it home and to reflect on how we can assist Christ in cleansing His temple, especially, on how we might encourage the good bishops to take the whip to those clerical clowns in the Eternal City that have sought to profane the temple with their perfidious errors and changes.
Unfortunately, the cult of Freemasonry exerts great control over the Church at this time, which accounts for the widely held error that the Church is an ongoing, evolutionary process that goes through phases of change over time. As these modernists see itanything the Church holds to at any given point of its history is the result of a general consensus or “collective conscience,“ as if the Church were a democracy to decide doctrine, when in fact the matter of doctrine has already been decided for us from above.
That is to say, the Church is a Divine Monarchy ruled by the King of kings, “with whom there is no change, nor shadow of alteration.” (James: 1:17) As such, the doctrines of the Faith arenot something that can change or develop but are eternally set in stone for our instruction. (Matthew 24: 35)
Lent is a time to cleanse ourselves and to return to the tradition of the Faith, but this applies especially to today’s Vatican hierarchy. It is high time that the Church’s ruling body clean house and take the whip to those money-changes, homosexuals, and heretics that are polluting the temple with their antics and doctrinal germs. It is time they go upon their knees and declare that we as Church have sinned in God’s eyes for allowing humanism, modernism, and change to defile Christ’s legacy.
Without this done, where is their Lenten penance? Their Holy Week solemnity is then reduced to an empty formalityand it is anticipated that this year’s ceremonies in Rome will be another farcical tool to advance Islam and political LGBT agenda. What next, will the pope wash the feet of gays and transgenders? Willthe bishops stand by and watch the show or will they finally speak up to correct a situation that is offensive to God and destructive to His people?
Each year at the Easter Vigil we are asked, “Do you renounce Satan and all his pomps and all his works,” as we say, “I do.” Let Francis and his bishops live up to that this year by rejecting all that Satan has given them, i.e. Vatican II ecumenism, modernism, change, lest this year’s observance again be filled with empty pomp void of the work of God.

Thoughtful and on the mark commentary, thank you for it. Certainly we hope and pray that this would happen, and God's house would be cleansed, but when you mention the part of the laity, denouncing Satan and his pomps, which I remember doing, I am stopped short.
With all charity and with good intentions toward my fellow pilgrims, I wish to encourage all Catholics to find a Holy Mass in the Extraordinary Form, the Latin Rite, at which they may attend. Usually just by looking under "Latin Rite Mass" in your state, you can find one.

There are often complicating reasons why one must attend this or that church, but the Latin Rite Mass, the Traditional Latin Mass, is the best form of authentic or actual Catholicism left on our poor planet. We attend a local "Low Mass", no bells or smells, as they say. Simple, with one male server who says the responses, we actually need do nothing but observe the usual practices during Holy Mass. We are free to witness the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, our Lord and Savior and Redeemer represented on the altar, no distractions of the usual kind, no hand shaking of our neighbor or bad hymns to be sung. We can actually sit in peace and ponder the immense mystery taking place, and it is an hour of peace.

The politics are gone, homilies tend to be faithful to our Catholic faith, not scoldings on welcoming immigrants, etc.
Latin is a dead language, not being used today, this makes it impervious to changing definitions, and you will adjust nicely to it. You will come to see the obvious rhythm and movements of the Mass because it is the Holy Mass and similar in form to the Novus Ordo Mass. Praying in an ancient language will become familiar, yes it will, and if you purchase a Missal such as the St. Joseph Missal of 1957 or so, the Latin is on one side of the page and the English is on the other. All readings for the day are there in English. Ebay has these at reasonable prices.

Come see, hear, and experience, the Holy Mass of the ages! Come see what your grandparents, great-grandparents, and ancestors saw, experienced, said, and did. Come see why Catholicism lasted 2000 years, only to be tampered with at Vatican II and now rendered something very different from the origin. See the beauty and truth of the Holy Mass, and chances are you too will want to continue to find this sustenance at least occasionally, here on earth. Today, we need this very much and Catholics who attend only the Novus Ordo are missing it entirely. This is a treasure that is our inheritance. It's ours.

Please forgive my lengthy post. I just so want my brothers and sisters in Christ to find some comfort, respite, and manna for the long, hard slog we are finding life these days.
God bless all here, and may God sustain us during these hard times. Viva Christo Rey!

Perhaps the author should be reminded that the 'renewal of baptismal promises' and the whole idea of 'Easter Vigil' are from the pen of the same team that brought us the Novus Ordo Mssae.

N.O. 'Faith': "This pivotal Lent of 2019 is the appropriate time to bring it home and to reflect on how we can assist Christ in cleansing His temple" [Catholic Faith: (1) This Lent is no more pivotal than any other VC2 manufactured "crisis"--but could be pivotal to YOU to save your soul. (2) God doesn't need your assistance; you need God's assistance to save your soul.]

N.O. laity empowered to save the Church'Faith': "especially, on how we might encourage the good bishops to take the whip to those clerical clowns in the Eternal City that have sought to profane the temple with their perfidious errors and changes." [Truth: the 'good' bishops were all appointed and report to the clowns in the Eternal City and profane the temple w/the same perfidious errors and changes. Indeed all the bishops attended VC2, voted for its constitutions and implemented it locally. Name some names so we can point out the perfidy of your good straw-men.]

Only someone schooled in the N.O. 'faith' could make so many prideful pharisee statements in one "holy week reflection" (that never mentions the sufferings of Christ for our sins). But what can you expect of someone whose entire Lent consists of 'fasting' on Ash Wednesday & Good Friday?

"It is high time that the Church’s ruling body clean house and take the whip to THOSE money-changes, homosexuals, and heretics that are polluting the temple with their antics and doctrinal germs." (do you mean sins?)

"It is time THEY go upon their knees and declare that WE AS CHURCH have SINNED" [Wait til you meet your judge Jesus Christ and find out the spotless bride of Christ" (BVM/Immaculate Conception) doesn't sin and is so insulted she ain't attending your condemnation to hell]

"Without this done, where is THEIR Lenten penance?"

"THEIR Holy Week solemnity is then reduced to an empty formality" [this from you joke clowns whose Lent has been reduced from fasting 40 days to fasting on Ash Wed & Good Friday]

N.O. Pharisee Hypocrite Truth: "Let Francis and his bishops live up to that this year by rejecting all that Satan has given them, i.e. Vatican II ecumenism, modernism, change, lest this year’s observance again be filled with empty pomp void of the work of God." [Truth: Francis and his bishops (including those you call 'good') have all freely chosen to embrace VC2 and are professing it. Those who follow them, like you all, are engaging in worship void of the Spirit and Truth of God. You can't avoid the responsibility of your own choice to follow these false shepherds and worship w/them by making empty statements that are devoid of truth.]

Yesterday, I was reading the Book of Daniel; here is Chapter 9: "I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, concerning which the word of the Lord came to Jeremias the prophet, that seventy years should be accomplished of the desolation of Jerusalem. And I set my face to the Lord my God, to pray and make supplication with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes. And I prayed to the Lord my God, and I made my confession, and said: I beseech thee, O Lord God, great and terrible, who keepest the covenant, and mercy to them that love thee, and keep thy commandments. We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly, and have revolted: and we have gone aside from thy commandments, and thy judgments. To thee, O Lord, justice: but to us confusion of face, as at this day to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel to them that are near, and to them that are far off in all the countries whither thou hast driven them, for their iniquities by which they have sinned against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our princes, and to our fathers that have sinned. But to Thee, the Lord our God, mercy and forgiveness, for we have departed from Thee: And we have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his law, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. And all Israel have transgressed thy law, and have turned away from hearing thy voice, and the malediction, and the curse, which is written in the book of Moses the servant of God, is fallen upon us, because we have sinned against him. And he hath confirmed his words which he spoke against us, and against our princes that judged us, that he would bring in upon us a great evil, such as never was under all the heaven, according to that which hath been done in Jerusalem. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: and we entreated not thy face, O Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and think on thy truth. And the Lord hath watched upon the evil, and hath brought it upon us: the Lord our God is just in all his works which he hath done: for we have not hearkened to his voice. And now, O Lord our God, who hast brought forth thy people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and hast made thee a name as at this day: we have sinned, we have committed iniquity, O Lord, against all thy justice: let thy wrath and thy indignation be turned away, I beseech thee, from thy city Jerusalem, and from thy holy mountain. For by reason of our sins, and the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem, and thy people are a reproach to all that are round about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the supplication of thy servant, and his prayers: and shew thy face upon thy sanctuary which is desolate, for thy own sake.

Incline, O my God, thy ear, and hear: open thy eyes, and see our desolation, and the city upon which thy name is called: for it is not for our justifications that we present our prayers before thy face, but for the multitude of thy tender mercies. O Lord, hear: O Lord, be appeased: hearken and do: delay not for thy own sake, O my God: because thy name is invocated upon thy city, and upon thy people. Now while I was yet speaking, and praying, and confessing my sins, and the sins of my people of Israel, and presenting my supplications in the sight of my God, for the holy mountain of my God:

As I was yet speaking in prayer, behold the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, flying swiftly touched me at the time of the evening sacrifice. And he instructed me, and spoke to me, and said: O Daniel, I am now come forth to teach thee, and that thou mightest understand. From the beginning of thy prayers the word came forth: and I am come to shew it to thee, because thou art a man of desires: therefore do thou mark the word, and understand the vision. Seventy weeks are shortened upon thy people, and upon thy holy city, that transgression may be finished, and sin may have an end, and iniquity may be abolished; and everlasting justice may be brought; and vision and prophecy may be fulfilled; and the saint of saints may be anointed. Know thou therefore, and take notice: that from the going forth of the word, to build up Jerusalem again, unto Christ the prince, there shall be seven weeks, and sixty-two weeks: and the street shall be built again, and the walls in straitness of times.

I wonder if it is possible, that this fire in Notre Dame is , by some stretch of the imagination, actually a act of God and the Blessed Virgin Mary against what has become a totally corrupted Catholic Faith in France (where only 4% of the faithful go to Mass, and where vocations to traditionalist communities far outnumber those to "Vatican II" groups. Where the entire French episcopate, with few exception, and radical liberal, dissenting, homo-supporting men who follow the lead of the same like minded Bishop of Rome?
Is it to much to speculate that maybe the Blessed Virgin , and Our Lord, didn't want the Holy Feast of Easter to be commemorated in Notre Dame by such a corrupted Church, with people like Cardinal Barbarin and other like minded clergy defiling that holy place?
The French people are starting to blame Muslims (even if it turns out not to be them....but it probably is). But maybe it is also pobssible that's it's a direct act from Heaven, that the Blessed Virgin doesn't want these kind of people, or this kind of "mass" in her holy sanctuary any longer.

(I know it's far fetched, but it's more than just a coincidence it happens at Holy Week.)
