Cardinal Müller Says Francis Should Reconcile with Archbishop Viganò

Did Pope Francis stop investigations against the English Cardinal Murphy-O'Connor? - The former prefect of the Congregation of the Faith gives (k) an answer that is explosive. Youth Synod has no teaching authority!

Rome (kath.net)  Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the former Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, in an interview with the television station EWTN, called on Pope Francis to seek a reconciliation with his critic, Archbishop Viganò. Müller also called on the pope to give answers to questions from the former US nuncio. "The people of God have a right to know what happened."

Archbishop Viganò accused Pope Francis of lifting sanctions on former US Cardinal McCarrick in August. For Müller it is clear that one can always make mistakes. "But we have to learn from these mistakes and we need to get better at abuse cases in the Church." According to Müller, Francis must preserve the unity of the Church and overcome the division of the faithful. "We are a Church united in faith, not a Church with a conservative or liberal ideology."

Poignant are also statements by Cardinal Müller about the English Cardinal Cormac Murphy - O'Connor, who is also accused of abuse cover-up and where Francis is accused of having stopped a corresponding investigations by the Congregation of the Faith. Asked by EWTN if Francis had forced him to stop the investigations, Müller only stated that he was not allowed to speak here because of papal secrecy. At the same time he emphasized that the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith needed more independence here, as the Congregation still needed a special permission from the Pope for cardinals and bishops: "I can not go into detail because I am bound by the papal secret, but I can say that every trial of bishops or cardinals in the Congregation requires the permission of the pope. That's a problem, we should change that point. The Congregation must begin its investigation, and there is no need for interference by the pope or the pope's friends, who say that the Congregation is dogmatic, that there are hardliners that Müller is German, that it is too heavy; All this has to be put outside. There must be a normal process and only in the end must the Pope be informed, and his is the final decision. But we can not be hindered in the process. We need the independence of the ecclesiastical courts in the canonical process.

"The big problem of this pontificate are the so-called friends of the pope. And we, his true friends, are called enemies of the pope by the mass media, but the category of friendship or hostility is not useful in this case. It requires proper management of the issues of faith, discipline and morality and not this system of personal relationships. Every time there is a group of Cardinals with the Pope, everything happens because some of them personally ask the Pope: I like the Bishop for personal reasons, not because he is the most suitable person, and so on, then the Bishops' Congregation is bypassed."

The cardinal said: "It is not good that the Pope here has the right to stop a necessary investigation."

The cardinal also made it clear that the problem of abuse in the Church is not clericalism or pedophilia, but aggressive homosexuality: "The vast majority of clerical abuse victims are not children, but teenagers and the mature. Any attack against the sixth commandment is a mortal sin. 80 percent and more of the victims are boys aged 14 and over; they are homosexual attacks, not pedophiles. It's not about kids, it's about teens and older people."

When asked about the Youth Synod, Müller said that they did not have a special teaching authority. He does not understand where this idea comes from, that synods should have a teaching authority. "A synod of bishops is not an ecumenical council, so it has no teaching authority, nor can the pope change the basic constitution of the Church."

Very interesting. He is bound by the "papal secret". Whenever Giuseppe Cardinal Siri was questioned about shenanigans in regard to various conclaves in which he was elected pope. He would only shake his head and remark sadly that he could say nothing because he was "bound by the papal secret". One of those quoted in context is the writer Malachi Martin.---- If all of this turmoil is tied in with the Third Secret, then there is no bowing to the "papal secret". It is alleged that the Third Secret states that there will be a pope under the influence of Satan. An interview with Malachi Martin on a taped radio show included a call in from an individual who said this very same thing of Satanic control of the Vatican. Martin's response was that whoever said that "appears to have read the Third Secret" but it is sufficiently vague to not be sure. ---Martin is known to have read the Third Secret. He died in 1999 and all of the alleged releases on the Third Secret happened after his death. Any release when he was alive and he would have been quick to respond on its authenticity.---As for Pope Francis dialoging with Vigano, you can forget that from happening. It is all about "kissing his ring" and learning to accept gay relationships. As events progress, Francis appears to profile all of the warnings in Scripture. That would appear to be one reason why he rejects Scripture. There is no argument over "sola fide" if there is no Bible.

With a gifted stang in hand, Saruman is on the throne of Peter. There'll be a few days' break and then Saruman will lead all to a Halloween party.

We have been deep within an ongoing Hallowe'en Party ever since PF was "elected." How long, O Lord?

Whenever I read Or listened to scripture, and homilies, I was since a child, struck by the expression "the man of perdition will then reveal himaelf". Sounded to me almost like a gradual process, much of it initially done privately, and then a "coming out". I was always puzzled by this expression. But I do understand it now. If Pope Francis "comes out of the closet" or not, I do not know, but his plan must at some point crystallize and be made universally public.I do know that scripture says that "the reign of antichrist will be short", as we expect the old man Bergoglio to have a short pontificate. Still, I think he is only a precursor of things to come. Bergoglio is only paving the way. If he is not the antichrist, Bergoglio will never completely reveal everything, because it is the antichrist that will be doing that. There are texts of the apparition of LaSalette that were censored and placed on the Index by Rome. These texts at the time were condemned, because it accuses the hierarchy and monastic orders of sexual perversion, instead of prayer. Mary states that from perversion and hypocrisy of the Church and society as a whole, the Antichrist will arrive. It was condemned, partly because it indicts the Church and the "Rome will become the seat of the AntiChrist". In 1848, it was considered insulting, offensive and Protestant/heretical to accuse Rome and the Church, so it was condemned. There is a part which says that people will be made in laboratories. At the time, this was considered stupidity and madness, so it was not taken seriously and condemned.

Reconcile...Really? The pope should resign.

I'm glad somebody else thinks that the stang in Francis' hand is a little too surreal not to be a coincidence. Catholic blogger Ann Barnhardt gave links on her pertinent articles showing that stangs are connected to witchcraft.

I do not agree with this stuff, but here is a bit of proof, respected Tancred:

The Pope's staff in the picture is a stang. It has an iron nail in it the way stangs do. It's right there. The stang is designed to mock the crucifixion. A stang is not just something that shows up. It has to have an iron nail. It doesn't prove anything about Pope Francis, but it is yet another shocking scandal from bishops who we thought had showed us everything.

A Stang is not a Stang any longer once it is in the hands of a Supreme Pontiff reigning on the Throne of Saint Peter. The Power of his exalted and holy Office, as Christ's Own Vicar on Earth, sanctifies it, and it becomes just a staff, or better yet, a differently shaped Papal ferula. Whatever it may have been, or was designed or intended to be or do, once it came into the possession of the Holy Father its very nature changed, and all attendant evil was banished.

We must never forget, to the Successor of Saint Peter is given by Our Savior the Power to Bind and to Lose. No occult or wizardly work, nor any form of satanic power from the abyss can contaminate or overcome the Power of the holy sacraments under his auspices, nor the inherent Power of the Holy Father in the exercise of his Office.

Our Blessed Lord did not lie, the gates of hell cannot ever hope to prevail against His Church. The Holy Father has the merciful Protection of Our Lady, Queen of Apostles, Holy Mother of the Church, Bane of all Heresies and Crusher of all Demons. She keeps him and the Bride of her Son safe in her loving, nurturing care.

Wow! So you believe in hocus pocus magic!
The Pope is not the Church, which in its supernatural reality can never succumb to error in the long run, and will always vindicate the Truth on the end. But Peter DID ERR, when he denied Christ 3x, and did not follow the decisions of the Council of Jerusalem. Paul "withstood him in the face". Not to mention Pope Honorious who was a Monothelyte/ Monophysite. Pope Liberius changed the Creed in the mid 400s to allow Arians to be embraced by the Church.. the Creed was changed from "begotten, not made of one substance with the Father,, to read instead "of a similar substance to the Father".
What do you know of history Larry? Apparently only that there is a fairyland, and that as long as you obey ...! Larry, welcome to the real world where the Holy Spirit eventually settles things over centuries. God does not micromanage us, does not micromanage the Church. It is for us to work for God, and for God to WORK THROUGH US. Ironically the Second Vatican Council states that the Church does not have the Truth, but rather, the Truth SUBSISTS in the Church. As long as the smallest of our bishops and laeity has and fights for the Truth, the Truth continues to subsist even if in a far-flung corner of the globe. And the Holy Spirit will make sure that the spirit and fullness of Truth can never be extinguished. Larry BE A MAN AND GROW UP as the Second Vatican Council prophetically Teaches you "conservatives" to be grown-up Vatican II laypeople.

Con, apparently you either did not read my comment in its entirety or you did not comprehend it. With regard to the effects of witchcraft or wizardry upon a Pope via a so-called "Stang" or any other such object, hex, curse or spell of the occult, I was not referring to the "man" upon whom the "OFFICE" of Pope is conferred, and who, as a flesh and blood earthly creature, is susceptible to human error and evil; I was referring to the "OFFICE" of Supreme Pontiff itself, a Divinely instituted and sustained spiritual construct of dominion and jurisdiction, which is not susceptible to such.

It was the "Office" that Our Lord established, while he was personally present here on earth, as the Rock upon which the Church itself is built, and He conferred said Office upon Peter (whom he foreknew and foretold would deny Him thrice) and ALL OF HIS SUCCESSORS. Every validly and canonically elected Pope is PETER, and regardless of the faults, failings and foibles of Peter's fallible human nature, the Vicariate of Christ, which he receives and holds from the Lord Himself, is INVIOLATE and cannot be contaminated or compromised by witchcraft, freemasonry or any such evil.

It is the Office and Ministry of the Bishop of Rome from which he rules with full, immediate and supreme authority over the whole Church that carries such immunity, not the human nature of the man who holds the Office - there is a difference. Our Lord warned Saint Peter that Satan desired to sift him as wheat, but He assured the Church's First Pope that He had prayed for him so that his faith would not fail. And the preservative grace and virtue of that prayer remains in absolute effect for all those who exercise the primacy of the Petrine Ministry over the universal Church. Christ's guarantee of indefectibility to His Church includes the ROCK upon which the Church itself is built. The gates of hell have no hope of prevailing against Our Lord's Church and the Rock He established it upon. Thus, all LEGITIMATE Successors of Saint Peter, who reign upon his Throne from the Apostolic See in Rome, have the Holy Spirit's impenetrable protection of infallibility in their Doctrinal declarations regarding Faith and Morals.

Why do you think Lucifer hates and fears the Papacy so, and seeks to utterly destroy all those who wear the cloak of the Fisherman? It's because he knows full well the unrivaled POWER of it and the eternal impact it has in heaven, on earth and even in hell itself....he remembers what Christ said concerning His Vicar and the glorious majesty He invested in that Office, even if we who call ourselves Catholic have forgotten.

So NO....the dark efforts of witches and warlocks have no hold on Peter. No occult or wizardly work, nor any form of satanic power from the abyss of hell can overcome the inherent Power of the Holy Father in the exercise of his Office.

It will take more than a funny shaped stick with a nail poking through it to capsize the Barque of Peter.

Ok, but only that you understand that the Pope and Church cannot err OVER THE LONGTERM,NOT THE SHORTTERM. So his picking up a stick of that sort is seriously sinful in any of the following way: by counsel- such as counseling the hierarchy and laeity during a synod that its ok to be sodomites, fornicators, or adulterers; commanding the more traditional cardinals to keep quiet; consenting to LGBTQ comments and participation; provocating the uneducated and largely uncatholic youth to voice criticism against the Church before, during and after the Synod; praise or flattery for pervert recognition during the Synod; concealment of the goals and agenda of the Synod; partaking in the unnatural lustful desires?, silence in responding to questions that question the actions and motives of the Pope; and to defend criminal actions of sodomized, especially defense of sodomite, formication, and defense of homosexuany . This is Bergoglio's strategy. You're a good catchist? what are the ways a catachism teaches us about the ways to commit sin?

Constantine said...

The point about the stick is that it says something too. Whatever one thinks of it, it too aids and abets confusion, heresy or worse, and encourages an ambiance of evil. It sets the stage of what's to come.. Moreover, do you seriously think that this stick was given to Bergoglio spontaineously? It was most likely staged. And Rome would have understood its meanings.

Peter W said...

No, Constantine, speak for yourself. You are confused about the Pope's pastoral staff, the "stick" as you call it. This pearl clutching and related hysteria about Wicca connotations, the same goes for the Rosary wrist bands the girls were wearing, is a monumental beat up by straw clutchers.
If you really want to get excited, do some research on the origins of the episcopal mitre and the maniple used in the Latin Mass. And there's more ....!

"Pastoral staff". PASTORAL STAFF. PASTORAL STAFF!!??

If one of the smelly sheep got the sharp end of that six inch nail in his eye, he'd start to wonder if the shepherd was up to the job.

Constantine said...

You are confused, because an instrument held in the hands of a Pontiff does not automatically become a thing of goodness or a cross, or whatever he says or thinks it is. Everything in a Post Vatican II Church is subjective and subject to an individual interpretation.Vatican II itself is not extrinsically evil, but intrinsically so. This is why Pope Francis and the other mindless "useful idiots" Popes John Paul II and Paul VI were constantly attacking straw men and shadows. They attacked abstract ideas, and not people, because a person now has "rights". They attacked modernism in its abstract, but not in its practice.Everything including the Council itself is left ambiguous and subject to multiple interpretations. The stick may be a cross for Bergoglio, but it a witch's stick for someone else. Why not have a Cross the kind which is clearly a CROSS, and not subjectively seen as anything else? Because he wants multiple interpretations, to include everyone, and not have them left out. Inclusivity and Diversity of morality and faith. That Cross reflects Bergoglio's belief in all faith and moralities as equally valid and to be encouraged.Any way you see it, it's OK. It is subliminal propaganda.

Cardinal Ouellet calls Vigano's bluff. Vigano is just another celebrity mouthpiece for the Church's equivalent of the reactionary Big End of Town. Now that his job is completed, and a failure at that, he'll be thrown under a bus just like the rest.

I promise to try hard to be charitable to everyone here and I hope they will too. The stick is a stang. As somebody on Fr. Z's blog put it, it looks like a duck, talks like a talk, etc. It is a stang.
If it were just something by itself, in something approaching a normal papacy, and if it had only happened on one day, it would be something that could be brushed off. This papacy is probably the strangest the church has ever had. Do we have any historians here? Further, it appears that it was on two different days that Francis wielded the stang. Folks, at some point, people are going to have to admit that Francis is either the anti-Christ or something like his precursor, predicted, I believe, by both the Apocalypse, (though maybe it is crazy to say that), but certainly by Our Lady of La Salette, who prophesied that "In the End, Rome will lose the Faith and become the seat of the anti-Christ."
Homosexuality is an abomination, and this Pope obviously doesn't care if sodomy rages amidst the Sacred College of Cardinals. He is an atheist who cares nothing about Christianity or Jesus Christ, Dogma or the Holy Eucharist, the Martyrs and the missionaries. He has ratified his heresy with Amoris Laetitia. He has not either hauled Cupich over the coals or sacked him outright for his Soviet tactic of trying to haul a priest off to a mental hospital for allowing a sodomite flag to be burned. Folks, when does it end? When will powerful men stand up and end this absurd, outrageous monstrosity of a papacy and restore sense to the Church? Soon, anybody in good standing with Rome will be contributing to their own persecution, a la Cupich et alia.
Sorry, but it just looks to me like anybody who is making light of the stang is a pathetic weakling. I'm sorry if I'm too harsh, but this is abysmal.

"Peter W" calls Vigano a reactionary mouthpiece. Incredibly banal and expression used by leftists. Quite the contrary, is a Conciliarist leftist, because it is the leftist that wants to go back to "ancient forms" of Mass, by ejecting all the "accumulations" and developments guided over the centuries by the Holy Spirit. We left Communion in the hand over the years because the Church saw abuses develop. The leftists are the ones also in culture and politics that are desiring to bring the world backward. Athens as a democracy was a nightmare, always arrogant and proud of their achievements, but always threatening wars to expand its business and trade, and spreading its udeas in the name of democracy and the people. Leftists have insisted on throwing away centuries of European culture in favor of barbaric or primitive third world non-Christian cultures. Sorry it is wrong to have the Church infiltrate itself into a pagan culture. Rather to lift up and advance civilization, it is the third world that must be lifted to our levels. This is genuine Christian Love. The world owes the Church for its mobilizing effects, and Salvation. The progressivists are the true reactionaries that want to drag the Mass, the Papacy, Morality and Dogma to its lowest possible level because leftists don't believe Man can be lifted to the Sky.
Moreover, as an aside Vigano was for most of his life a leftist member of the Vatican establishment and would probably still follow the mentally darkened mind of the progressivism John Paul II, and his hula-hula topless readers and dancers.

Traditioninaction.org has a recent article to which I won't link about the stang because it has something bad on it, but it too, notices that the thing is a stang. They note that Francis received the thing on August 11th (!!!!) and decided to use it for the October Synod.

Really? When should we not be up in arms? I get it - Anne Barnhardt comes off as almost completely loony, but others have said the same thing.

I appreciate the link to the 36 minute interview of Cardinal Muller with Raymond Arroyo at EWTN. Muller is very logical and straightforward. His most lasting comment was in regard to sex abuse and compassion for the victim and not the perpetrator. This would echo comments made long ago by Fulton Sheen on "false compassion".---In regard to China and the bishop controversy, he made it very clear that he was backing the view of Joseph Cardinal Zen. The two bishops from China at the synod welcomed warmly in an address by Francis were both members of the Patriotic Association. Where are the faithful bishops who were kept from participating?China has its own Gulag for those who resist.---The concern now is just what went with the deal with China. Has Francis thrown his support for the worldwide takeover by atheistic Communism through Communist China? As a Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, I would have to ask if there is now in motion a Chinese directive for preparation for the overthrow of the capitalist structure of America through Chinese military intervention.
