SSPX Elects New Superior

On July 11, 2018, Father Davide Pagliarani was elected Superior General, for a mandate of 12 years, by the 4th General Chapter of the Society of Saint Pius X.

The new Superior General is 47 years old and is of Italian nationality. He received the sacrament of Holy Orders from the hands of Bishop Bernard Fellay in 1996. He exercised his apostolate in Rimini (Italy), then in Singapore, before being appointed Superior of the District of Italy. Since 2012, he was Rector of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix Seminary of La Reja (Argentina).

After accepting his office, the elected pronounced the Profession of Faith and took the Anti-Modernist Oath at the seminary church. Then, each of the members present came before him to promise their respect and obedience, before singing the Te Deum in thanksgiving.

T....do you have any insight into what this means, especially as regards reproachment with (modernist) Rome?....do you have any analysis?...would be most anxious to hear your personal thoughts.

With the appointment of a priest as Superior General, it deemphasizes the ordinations of the Bishops.

And it further demonstrates just how pathetically bereft of talent and leadership this crowd has.
When the bishops go, extinction of the entire outfit will soon follow.

A priest as head is reversion to the norm, and wisely Fr has in the past cast talks with Rome as an effort towards understanding rather than 'regularisation,' a process that threatened the remnant of the faithful.

They serve around three million Catholics worldwide with 600 priests, 200 seminarians and about 300 Religious and still growing while other societies are shrinking and disappearing. Sounds like good leadership to me.

The fact he was seminary rector in Argentina speaks positive for his election. It means he knows Bergoglio. And Bergoglio knows him and Father Davide knows well the Pope's country Argentina. And if what has been said is true, Bishop Bergoglio allegedly admired him.
