Pope Promises no “Uniatism” in Relationship to Orthodox Churches

Francis in address to delegation led by Moscow Foreign Minister Archbishop Hilarion: The way of unity is the "only way" - No mission among non-Catholic Christians

Vatican City (kath.net/KAP) Unusually, Pope Francis has reaffirmed his commitment to ecumenism with the Russian Orthodox Church and its Patriarch Kyrill. The path of unity is "the only way that promises us something certain, the path of division will only bring us war and destruction," the Pope said in a short speech to a Russian Orthodox delegation whose text the Vatican published on Saturday.

"The only patriarch in Moscow, in Russia, is yours," Francis assured the delegation. This was under the direction of Metropolitan Hilarion, the foreign chief of the Moscow Patriarchate, who visited Italy from Monday to Wednesday. Shortly before returning to Russia, the group had been received by the Pope.

In his address, Francis gave a clear rejection to any Uniatism, that is, the mission among non-Catholic Christians. If "some Catholic believers - whether lay people, priests or bishops" propagate this, he says: "That does not work anymore, that's over." Of course, the existing Eastern churches unified with Rome, which have arisen in past centuries, must be respected. Today, however, this is no longer a way to unity, according to the Pope.

However, Francis also urged the Russian Orthodox Church to take concrete steps in ecumenism. As examples Francis called for prayer, charitable commitment or pilgrimages. Although one must continue to discuss the theological divergences, one should not wait until at some point, for agreement to exist in all teaching differences.

As a further clear assurance to the Orthodox side, the Pope said: "The Catholic Churches in Russia must not interfere in the internal affairs of the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as in politics." This is his attitude and that of the Holy See, the Pope said. Finally, he called on Orthodox and Catholic believers for mutual prayer for each other. This brings the sisters and brothers of both churches closer together.

There is no doubt that the Third Secret of Fatima mentions Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine has the Greek Uniate (Catholic) Church while Russia has the Orthodox. Sadly, it is well known that the Russian Orthodox Church was infiltrated by Stalin. This means that atheism is the driving force behind the Russian Orthodox Church. Pope Francis has to take this into consideration.---He wants to unite the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. At the very least, Pontiff Francis supports the world wide Communist movement as an agent of change for his dream of a one world socialist government and Church. The Orthodox appear to be rejecting Communism a la Pope John Paul II while the West appears to be embracing it with Liberation Theology once more "off the shelf".---The Orthodox are now strongly anti homosexuality and regard it as a sin. Rome appears to sanction it as a holy event under the right circumstances. Actually, it would appear in the realm of the Third Secret that Russia has been converted and Rome has fallen. For this to work, Francis has some explaining to do.

The Pope doesn't want schismatics to enter the one true Church because he can't stand anyone who, even while outside of it, is still more nearly Catholic than he is.

The Ukrainians are not the only Greek Catholics, and they clearly even avoid using both "Greek" and "Slavonic" in their liturgy, but still play up their distinction to use their identity for political ends; to show they are enemies of both Poles and Russians. As the Western/EU covers the murders of the nationalist pro-UPA Ukrainians against those Ukrainians further East, as a joke, while playing up the Gay Liberation, Feminist, and neo-Marxist Movements as a matter of grave human dignity, we can see how the Western mainstream media is the leftist joker brainwashing the public. As far as the prophecy of Fatima coming to its fullment, there is obviously the Russians that will be the torchbearers of both the Greek Rite, as well as the defenders of the Catholic Church. Russians and Poles had empires and ruled many peoples for centuries. The Poles and Russians are much more pluralist and cosmopolitan in their global view. They have traditionally ruled multicultured States and understand tolerance. The Ukrsinians, however, are xenophobic, parochial and culturally ethno-centric and closed- minded. There is no future for them on a grand global scale. Being the same Slavic "Rus" Tribe as Russians, they will ned to be eventually absorbed. One of Putin's original proposals, was to give Catholic Western Ukraine back to the Poles, and Eastern, Orthodox Ukraine to Russia. This idea should be given a more serious and second look. But with the conversion of Russia to greek Catholicism, the people if ""Rus" can finally be reunited as they were at the time of St.Vladimir.

In 2004, there was an Orange Revolution. Yuschenko won and the heir apparent to Kuchma, Yanukovich, stole the election which was then forcefully overcome. The Russians were deeply involved in the poisoning of Yuschenko.---This was a young democracy with Kuchmna being its second president. The Orange Revolution died and one of its main death components was a Hillary influence with darling Ylia Tymoskenko who broke up the coalition and went her own way which ended up being prison.---The Russian Orthodox Church is an agent of the Russian government. If Pope Francis hands over the "keys to the kingdom" and control of Ukraine why should Putin complain? You espouse evidently the picking apart of Ukraine between Poland and Russia. The Greek Catholic Church is a massive force in the restructuring of Western Ukraine. The Wast is all but Russian and controlled by the Orthodox Church.---It would appear that Francis is a supporter of Communism as a stabilizing force in the world. As a member of the U.S. Navy who visited Communist Romania which is next door to Ukraine on the Black sea, Pope Francis is playing a dangerous game. He apparently hates Western capitalism and is willing to throw in his lot with atheistic Communism as an agent of change in the world to create a one world socialist government. Pope John Paul II warned against this very scenario.

Just as a clarification, Western Catholic Ukraine was traditionally separate from the Orthodox West. At the end of World War I, the Brest-Litovsk treaty determined the borders. But the Brest-Litovsk treaty borders were there long before. During the period of Austrian/Austrian-Hungarian rule, that was pretty much the accepted borders. Prior to that, there was rule under Poland. The treaty started during these years prior to the Polish partition by Russia, Austria, and Prussia. So Catholic Western Ukraine- principally Ternopol and Galicia, have always been apart historically, culturally and politically from the Eastern Ukraine. They don't belong together. And contrary to Western propaganda, there was never a distinct Ukrainan people. These people are referred to as the "Rus". These includes the Russians. They are the same people. As far as Revolutions are concerned, who poisoned who and if poison truly occurred at all is mere speculation, fueled by the Western press to spread their putrid democracy. Democracy is the enemy of the Church because it accepts all people, regardless of religion and morality and ideology, as equal, and equally entitled to participate, vote, elect, and be elected, to voice and publish their opinions- regardless of perversion or errors involved- as long as you can get a manipulated and/or improperly educated and majority together to vote for you. This is why the Ukrainians always have trouble putting and keeping governments together. They are stubborn and inflexible, as a people. They are xenophobic and always blame others- both among themselves as well as Russians for their own sins and faults and failures. Because they can not rule themselves, others had, out of charity, as an older brother or parent, to rule them.

This is real sad, if you believe in Uniatism, as many people did who suffered and died for it.
Uniatism is the striving for union with the See of Peter (i.e. the Roman Catholic Church) and acknowledging the Papacy and the Roman Catholic Church as the one true Faith. There are many branches of the Orthodox tradition and culture and liturgical heritage which over the last 200-300 years, and even up until the last 80-90 years, abandoned their traditions as independent Orthodox Churches, or Churches in union with another group(either Patriarchy of Constantinople (technically the leader of ALL Orthodox Churches), or the Patriarchy of Moscow(which technically is supposed to be under Constantinople but isn't).
Some of the Churches which moved towards union with Rome and the Papacy over the last centuries are the Armenian Catholic Church, the Greek Byzantine Catholic Church, the Ukrainian Catholic Church, and also the Syrian Catholic Church, Ethiopian Catholic Church, and the Malankara Catholic Church( origininating as an Orthodox Church in India loyal/subject to Constantinople, but broke with that branch of Orthodoxy, became independent for awhile, and then acknowledged the Pope under Pope Pius XI in the early 1930's.
Many times these people suffered extreme persecution in their countries, particularly in the Ukraine(where most people were/are Ukranian/Russian Orthodox. Uniate Ukranian churches were bombed, set on fire, and the people were often beated and sometimes killed. They were discriminated agonists for jobs and basically shunned. But they were brave people who wanted to acknowledge the Pope and the Catholic Church and the True Faith.
Vatican II did away with all that. Instead of missionaries seeking to bring people into the Roman Catholic Faith, there was now ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue and inculturation(adopting local traditions and cultures of a given people into the liturgy). So now we had guitar Masses, a Congolese Mass with drums and rattles, and some Masses in India which adopted Hindu musical style, and traditions (using candles, flowers, milk, incense) in a certain way which is more common in Hindu temples. I can't explain that here.....it would take to long.
Suffice it to say that some Masses looked more like Hindu temple ceremonies.
Su Uniatism was abandoned and ecumenism took its place. More reason why nearly all the once great Catholic missionary Orders of priests and sisters have collapsed to in some cases the point of extinction. The White Fathers are a good example....5,500 before Vatican II, 1,100 today with a median age of 72. The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (the largest missionary Order of nuns at one time in the Church went from 11,000 before Vatican II, to about 5,200 today with a median age close to 80.)
Like recent Popes, Francis is betraying the generations of people who abandoned Orthodoxy under the Patriarch of Constantinople, in order to maintain their same heritage but united to the Pope and the Catholic Church. They suffered much for this brave act.
But recent Popes, and especially Francis, have all but spit in the face of this sacrifice and act of courage.
No wonder that the Orthodox are not dying out, but the Uniate Catholics are.
Pityful and shamefull the last 50 years.

Francis, who tirelessly seeks to subvert the Church, attempts to dissolve ecclesiastical communion by fostering false unity with the Greek and the Russian. Freemasonry has been trying to plant the false notions of a 'transcendental christianism' among Catholics for centuries, and the present Roman Pontiff willingly allows himself to be instrumentalised to push forth these notions. Ecclesiastical communion can only be based on the orthodox Faith and Unity of Apostolic Rome, and we, Latin Christians, must strongly oppose the agenda of bishops who betray the men of Byzantium who are with Peter.

I don't think Francis allows himself to be anything. I think he is an active participant in the destruction of the Faith and the Church. He isn't instrumentalized, he ins't manipulated, influenced, or advised. It's him. It is his actions from the beginning. It is all his words and ideas....no one else influences him or puts the words in his mouth or tells him what actions to take.
If you ever read what good Cardinals and priests have said about him, it is that he does not listen to advice of the good Catholics. He acts on his own, bypasses their opinions and choses the most radical,progressive..and even heretical person to appoint or action to take.

Francis is on a fast track to world unity. What should take a century to accomplish, he wills in a decade. The Church is viewed as too antagonistic for its moral stance. In order for this new Church of unity to arise, anything traditional must be destroyed.---There appears now no doubt that this was warned of in the Third Secret. Malachi Martin read the Third Secret and its influence shows through in all of his writings. Christ will not abandon His Church. If indeed, traditional Catholics will be hunted like doves as Martin wrote, then Christ will eventually intervene.
