No thanks, I've not watched or heard anything this man (not canonically elected) has to say and I'm not starting now.

Anonymous said...

Prove that he is not canonically elected.

Don't need to, I take St. Francis's word for it.

I'm not even a little fan of Pope Francis; in fact, he appears to be a terrible pope. But giving life to vague rumours without providing specific details on a matter as grave as denying he's not the duly elected pope is unwise at best, possibly even scandalous.

I recently heard an ancient prediction made by Saint Francis himself shortly before he died about a pope far in the future form his time. He was dying (indeed he died a day or two after the prediction), but he said that one day in the future there would come a pope who was not canonically elected and who with his supporters (meaning the bishops and cardiunals who likewise adhere to Francis' agenda), would attempt to leadmuch of the Catholic Church into error . He would degrade the Papacy, and adopt a system contrary to Catholic teaching. There would be great conflict in the Church, but his term would be brief.
I believe Saint Francis was speaking of the man who would assume his name as Pope. And I do not think Saint Francis considered it an honor that this man would choose his name....either then as he lay dying, or now when he is in Heaven.

I am a Franciscan and never heard of such a prophecy. Show me where in official writings of the saint that occurs. I think it is stuff and nonsense. Pope Francis IS the pope. Pray for his holiness and that he will be, in the end, a great pope. Pray hard! I will not watch his Mass though...

Boniface said...

Me too. I have read almost everything Francis wrote and never heard of that. Where in the accepted writings of St. Francis is that prophecy? Don't throw your faith away over an apocryphal legend.

Anonymous said...

Tom, take it up with St. Francis.

"Who am I to judge? God is not a spray, God does not exist, I was lied to, cheated". Don't throw YOUR faith away by following such utter rubbish.

Shortly before he died in 1226, St. Francis of Assisi called together the members of his order and warned them of great tribulations that would befall the Church in the future, saying:

Act bravely, my Brethren; take courage, and trust in the Lord. The time is fast approaching in which there will be great trials and afflictions; perplexities and dissensions, both spiritual and temporal, will abound; the charity of many will grow cold, and the malice of the wicked will increase.
The devils will have unusual power, the immaculate purity of our Order, and of others, will be so much obscured that there will be very few Christians who will obey the true Sovereign Pontiff and the Roman Church with loyal hearts and perfect charity. At the time of this tribulation a man, not canonically elected, will be raised to the Pontificate, who, by his cunning, will endeavour to draw many into error and death.
Then scandals will be multiplied, our Order will be divided, and many others will be entirely destroyed, because they will consent to error instead of opposing it.
There will be such diversity of opinions and schisms among the people, the religious and the clergy, that, except those days were shortened, according to the words of the Gospel, even the elect would be led into error, were they not specially guided, amid such great confusion, by the immense mercy of God.
Then our Rule and manner of life will be violently opposed by some, and terrible trials will come upon us. Those who are found faithful will receive the crown of life; but woe to those who, trusting solely in their Order, shall fall into tepidity, for they will not be able to support the temptations permitted for the proving of the elect.
Those who preserve their fervour and adhere to virtue with love and zeal for the truth, will suffer injuries and, persecutions as rebels and schismatics; for their persecutors, urged on by the evil spirits, will say they are rendering a great service to God by destroying such pestilent men from the face of the earth. But the Lord will be the refuge of the afflicted, and will save all who trust in Him. And in order to be like their Head [Jesus Christ], these, the elect, will act with confidence, and by their death will purchase for themselves eternal life; choosing to obey God rather than man, they will fear nothing, and they will prefer to perish [physically] rather than consent to falsehood and perfidy.
Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it under foot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor, but a destroyer.

Perhaps you should read a book printed before 1960?
Here is one for you:
Works of the Seraphic Father by R. Washbourne. Imprimatur Bishop William Bernard 1882

Here's a link, scroll down to page 249 in the book. It's great the words of the saint, a great way to spend Easter day.

Happy Easter Tancred and everybody!

Thanks for posting the St Francis prophecy. I've always wanted to read it.

C'mon guys, things can only get better...

Sticking to the video, I think Bergoglio looks reasonably well. His waistline is bigger and he's a bit older in the face than he was when he was elected, but he's also 78 years old. Until he cuts back on his schedule or we begin to hear about reoccurring illnesses, I'll assume he's relatively healthy.

Pope Francis is a disaster.

I'd rather watch paint dry.

Happy and Blessed Easter everyone!

To Anonymous from an earlier post, what type of Franciscan are you? Are you one of the Franciscans who are openly embracing sodomites? Are you one of the few faithful, from the Bergoglio persecuted, Franciscans of The Immaculate? The ancient prophecy given to the real St. Francis of Assisi, is true and approved, whether you like it or not. It does pertain to Bergoglio, as does, the speech given circa 1950, by Ven. Archbishop Fulton Sheen who said, the false prophet will build a religion, worldly eucumenical, with out a cross, and a religion without Christ. He stated that Satan would recruit this individual from the ranks of the bishops! Cardinal Burke knows what is going on. He cannot say much at this time, especially about the private meeting he had with francis, over a month ago. If you recall, it was publicized that Cardinal Burke was called before Francis. Bergoglio single handedly destroyed the Franciscans of The Immaculate. That is undisputable. By the way, my name is Jeff Klump from St. Louis, Missouri USA. I hate signing in under anonymous, but, my Google account is not working.

Wake up. Things are about to get a lot worse.

On holy Thursday night mass, he washed the feet of 13 people this year, including a child. Where will this mockery and possible blasphemy end? Why has the world accepted this?

Read also blessed Ann emmerich visions of the 2 popes .

Just a picture of Bergoglio is enough to make you gag. Who would want to watch a live stream of this antichrist?

Anonymous said...

Its been reported on the Internet enough times that it must be true.

Anonymous said...

He wrote it in Latin obviously which is why you never heard of it.

+JMJ+ Ave Maria! May God have mercy on all of you. Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee...

Saint Francis is a man of questionable mental stability. It is but an excuse that "he's Italian, that's how they are" because holy men do not consider themselves anything but sinners. Just look at the account of his life and you see the prototype of "I do not fear Hell/concern myself with sin, because I love/am in love with God" sort of people.

Anonymous said...

Catholic Mystics like Francis of Assisi are strangely not convinced of their own sinfulness. Even more foolish are those who ascribe to him god-like powers, as if he can bring down a bishop.

Tell me, was Francis ever ordained a priest? No! Was he given the authority of a bishop, a successor of the apostles? No! And yet deluded people worship him and ascribe to him heretical notions like the "Prayer of St. Francis" as well as drivel that is posted above.

Anonymous said...

It is not your business to look at prophesies which no Catholics are required to accept as necessary to one's own salvation.

Anonymous said...

The Latin Mass is also in Latin, which is why you ascribe to it what is not there. Because you know not everyone knows Latin, so you can make your own claims as to what the Latin says. Charlatans and hypocrites rejoice.

Please, have a look at Socci's blog and watch the real people in St. Peter's with the BoR and with His Holiness Pope Benedict....good night.

Jeff, my Google acct is not working, either, but I'm a different Anon. I'm a Third Order Franciscan.

You're right - that prophecy of St. Francis of Assisi is an approved document of the Franciscans. Along with the writings of Celano and St. Bonaventure, and a book called "The Little Flowers of St. Francis," it can be read at the Transitus rite of passage of St. Francis on the night before he died [Oct. 3.]

It's astounding, even scary. But it does not deviate from other approved mystical visions, especially those of Bl. Anne Catherine Emmerich, Melanie of LaSalette, and lately, Sister Agnes of Akita. Melanie, for one, suffered tremendous persecutions as a result of her prophecies and was driven out of France to roam all over England and Italy.

While the Church does not require us to believe in prophecies, She does make sure they don't conflict with established doctrine and urges us to test them for authenticity [your sensus fidelium helps] and to look into the holiness of the visionaries.

To me, privately and as a Franciscan, the St. Francis prophecy at least passes the smell test.

Anon,

I'm afraid to watch it, but tell me: Is it really during Mass that the Papal foot-washing takes place, or is it outside of the Mass? It's important to distinguish.

Before Vatican II, the Mandatum was done outside of the Mass and any number of poor people were invited to participate, their feet washed, and alms given to them. The theology behind it pointed to the Church's service to the poor.

After Vatican II, the foot-washing rite was incorporated into the Mass and the theology changes: It now has something to do with the "call to the priesthood." Only clergy, would-be clergy [seminarians], or a group of select men representing clergy ["viri selecti"] participate.

So, if the Pope was washing the feet of poor people outside of the Mass, he was really just subscribing to the pre-Vatican II theology. And that's all right.

But If he did it during a Mass, he's violating the rubrics of Vatican II Mass.

Anon at 5:55 am, did you mean the SAINT or did you mean to write "pope" Francis. I say that because I too have found myself almost making that mistake on occasion when typing.

Anonymous said...

Of course it's not "required" but St Paul and St. Thomas disagree with you.

Corinthians 14:5 from the Douay-Rheims
"And I would have you all to speak with tongues, but rather to prophesy. For greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh with tongues: unless perhaps he interpret, that the church may receive edification"

"In all ages men have been divinely instructed in matters expedient for the salvation of the elect...and in all ages there have been persons possessed of the spirit of prophesy, not for the purpose of announcing new doctrines, but to direct human actions." (-St. Thomas Aquinas: Summa: 2:2:174: Res. et ad 3)
