Cardinal Raymond Burke: "We Need Catholics Without Compromise"

(Rome) The Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura spoke with unmistakable clarity : "It takes uncompromising Catholics" to oppose the killing of unborn children, artificial insemination and the gender ideology. In an exceptional and very long interview with the monthly magazine Radici Cristiane by Roberto de Mattei, the Cardinal treated in a  Catholic manner, the burning and controversial issues of the current debate over which, anti-Church circles exercise an increasingly radical   cultural hegemony and how  the thinking of Europeans is veritably brainwashed, which  begins in kindergarten. There is no more time to watch idly or to talk about compromise.  Nor is it legitimate to resign.[!] The tacit resignation in the face of a psychological, moral and spiritual destruction thus constitutes a form of compromise with evil, says the Cardinal.
The traditional Cardinal from the U.S. calls on the parents and teachers to decide to act against things  included in the school programs and curricula, which means the "injured innocence of children". These include programs that already want to teach four or five year old children that marriage could have "different forms".
Catholics Should Stand up Against Perversions of Relativism
An end to the silence, an end to the anxiety, an end to the  cowardice. It is necessary to bear witness to the truth of Christ to affirm the natural right to call the healthy Catholic doctrine into memory and stand up to the rampant perversions of relativism and secularism against the Church, against life and against the family, the cardinal said.
A certain laxity in the past decades have fostered the emergence and enforcement of false ideas. The fight against truth, beauty and goodness is in its present severity would have been unthinkable, if the half-heartedness had not come  into the Church, the cardinal said. "A real Catholic believes  entirely in every truth taught by the Church without compromise. The term  of , 'partial catholicity' and 'part catholic' is a contradiction in terms, " said Cardinal Burke.
"Confident No" to Abortion More Necessary Than Ever
Today it is   more than ever necessary   "to confidently say no to abortion and the contraceptive mentality".  In this sense,it was even more so a " resounding no to Communion for politicians, who act against the moral law,  in order, to prevent sacrilege through consistent action  and to protect the faithful from a public scandal."
The schools and the families should have no hesitation to "fight against the dictatorship of decadent gender theory. Parents need to watch over the education of their children so that they are educated regarding human sexuality to the truth and to be protected from false messages that are to be implemented by schools and the media," said Burke.  Parents should avoid having their children participate in classes and extracurricular activities that  undermine the truth about the nature of man as man and wife. "
Resist "Decadent Gender Theory"
The Cardinal treated  the problem of genetic manipulation in the interview: "It is important to emphasize that the resistance of the Church against in-vitro techniques is based on the conception of the natural law and not to a specific Catholic doctrine. Right reason protects the inviolability of human dignity and the procreation of man. "
Against abortion and "gay marriage" the Cardinal  urged the raising of  "the loud voice of protest" and to take to the streets against those governments that violate the natural law. The March for Life in different countries is a very useful tool for it.
Obama Accelerated Spread Perverse Theories
The Obama administration has, said Cardinal Burke, "brought an acceleration of  perverse theories". The policy of "U.S. presidents have become progressively more hostile to  Christian civilization. Many faithful Catholics have responded to the ever more increasing persecution. Unfortunately, there is still  the impression that a considerable part of the population is not really aware  of what is happening at present. "
In France, the population has responded most clearly: "The logo of Manif pour tous is very strong. It aims at the truth. What   the French have implemented  is a model for other countries. The citizens must be ready to act," said Cardinal Burke.
The complete eight-page interview can be obtained from the magazine Radici Cristiane, in Italian.

Well done Cardinal Burke.
One of the remaining few catholic prelates to call a spade a spade.
People of his intellectual and moral stature are no longer welcome in the ugly fractured church which Pope Francis seems intent on creating.

God bless Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke for telling the truth! Our Pontiff doesn't like that so he was punished. That doesn't stop him and it shouldn't stop you.

How about a pope without compromise?

Compromise - is it not attributed to Our Blessed Lady of Akita the just criticism of the cardinals and bishops at odds with each other and making compromises? It must be a dirty word in Heaven where church matters are concerned.
Frankly, the pope fudges and compromises The Faith. WYD liturgy was quite appalling, for example. he has also undermined the excellent work of the anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage movements.
Indeed, the entire post-conciliar period of liberal modernism in liturgy, pastoral processes and doctrinal explanations consists of systematic compromise and fudge.

Thank you, Cardinal Burke, for doing your duty. Yes, even more, we need Popes, bishops and priests without compromise.

"The Obama administration has, said Cardinal Burke, 'brought an acceleration of perverse theories'.

Pope Francis meets with Nobel Peace Prize winner Obama in just a few days. I pray he will use the occasion to echo Cardinal Burke's words.

Let's not forget that the widespread contraceptive use is the root cause of all these evils. If we forget that, we will not be attacking the root of the problem, and the Hydra will continue to raise an ugly head. This is not a time for despair, the world is falling further into darkness, only the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church remains.

I would not bank on that one.

Unllikely, but you'd expect... He didn't reprimand Hollande, who is just as evil as Obama.

Cardinal Burke, like Voris, always tell us how orthodox Pope Francis so they keep their cushy jobs in the Vatican and go on cruises and shooting retreats w/Richie-rich donors. Meanwhile, Hollande meets w/Francis and Francis tells him what a great job he is doing! Even as his mistress is in a mental institution because he has taken up with a new mistress.

In a communique released today, the Holy See stated that discussions between the Pope and President Hollande also focused on the contribution of religion to the common good.

“Emphasising the good existing relations between France and the Holy See, the Parties made mention of their mutual commitment to maintaining a regular dialogue between the State and the Catholic Church and to collaborating constructively on questions of common interest,” the Holy See statement read.

Meanwhile Hollande is trying to impose rampant homosexual agenda on France - Francis (and BURKE!) say not a word! BUT the people led by SSPX priests (who Francis also persecutes) are beaten in the street.

What a rotten, filthy joke that we are supposed to get beaten, assaulted, arrested and lose our jobs, while Dolan goes Bravo! -- you may think Burke is faithful, but I wouldn't want to be in his shoes at judgment.

14:30 - wants housewives to do his fighting for him! (In 2009 Bishop D'Arcy at Notre Dame led his people - and was retired for it!)

The current pontifical attitude is very clear : conservative prelates like Cardinal Burke who publicly utter the mildest reservations about papal policy are being punished.
Pope Francis will not now tolerate any clear, authoritative moral pronouncement of traditional catholic doctrine.
He wishes in his own words to create a "mess".

The obstacles he sees in his path are traditional catholics who hold a clear doctrinally based faith.
In attacking these people he undermines their faith and inflicts grievious wounds.

Obama also inflicts grievious wounds on American catholics so
this meeting with the current Roman catholic pontiff is likely
to be another dreary unfruitful event .

The root cause in catholic countries of many of the evils you list is the abject failure of their catholic hierarchy to teach and propogate sound clear and unambiguous catholic doctrine.

This problem is connected to the errors of the second Vatican council.

Sadly, confused Pope Francis just makes things worse.

Sadly

Please, please, please keep doubling down on the hysteria and hatred.

You'll become inconsequential all the faster.

This makes no sense. The only consequences that matter in the end are the four last things. Any worldly success is of no consequence to God.

The only hatred and hysteria seems to be emanating from you, Twinkle Toes.

Amen, people are getting the wrong message. I realize Pope F. wants a different approach to how Catholics are viewed but in the end it's an authentic truth that gets you to heaven. Pope Frances needs to emphasize that the teachings of the church have not changed too!

Please find the English version of the interview. Please note, moreover, that it was originally published in the Polonia Christiana magazine: http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/english-exclusive-cardinal-burke-on-faith-the-right-to-life-and-the-family

The original interview is from Roberto Mattei and it's a pity but there is no English translation.

Unknown said...

The problem is that uncompromising Catholics are often undermined by bishops. Some recent statements by the pope himself would not qualify as uncompromisingly Catholic.

Dear Tancred, as the author of the interview, I confirm that it was originally published in the Polonia Christiana magazine and then in Radici Cristiane. Yesterday its original, English language version was published in lifesitenews.com (as per the above link). Kind regards, Izabella Parowicz.

All well and good but don't we need more like him to tell us catholics where to sit and stand? I also think he is putting the onus on laypeople instead of where it should be stressed - on his fellow clergy, esp. the pope. I mean, catholics will follow their clergy ONLY if the clergy are willing to go the extra mile, to be holier than us. I find them to be few in numbers. For the last 40 years I've seen weak and very weak clergy , spineless in their duties, afraid to tell their congregations about mortal sin, hell, hell even purgatory is never mentioned. If catholics BEGIN to see that their priests, bishops and popes are striving for the best for catholics, then catholics will BEGIN to respond to their leaders. Until then, I see little hope. If I see much longer lines for confession, then I will see some hope.
