Comparing the Church Militant with a Cruise Ship

Msgr Charles Pope wrote an interesting blog post for the Archdiocese of Washington recently where he compared the Church to a battleship. There is a lot of symbolism in scripture and tradition to compare the Church militant to a ship, an ark or even a battleship. The dream of Dom Bosco was a kind of vision of the Church Militant engaged against Her enemies. The symbolism is powerful, although some may object to it today, they are only expressing vicarious doubts borrowed from the false doctrines of secular humanism. If they look to what the Church has always been and stood for, the Church is like a battleship, She's militant and prepared for war against the Powers and Principalities of this world.
